"My name is Ariel. I'm an angel."
Dean did a double take.
He'd seen many angels before, but this one was different somehow.
And wasn't Ariel a Disney princess or something?
He shook his head.
"Cas" he called. "She's awake."
Cas was there before Dean could so much as breathe. His piercing eyes examined Ariel more closely.
She had long brown hair and blue-green eyes. Her skin was fair as if she hadn't seen the sun in months. She wore what looked to be a work uniform; a lavender shirt with Dune Café and Sweet Shoppe printed on the front and khaki pants. A grey and coral pair of Nike Airs adorned her miniature feet and a small tattoo bearing the word unless was clearly visible on her right wrist.
"What does it mean?" asked Sam.
"What does what mean?" questioned Ariel.
"Your tattoo." Sam pointed.
Ariel looked at it as if seeing it for the very first time.
"I don't know." she shrugged.
"It must be a souvenir from the vessel." Cas concluded.
"And speaking of which," he went on "does she have a name?"
Ariel nodded.
"Her name was Chelsea," she said.
Dean nodded.
"Chelsea," he echoed.
Ariel looked questioningly at him.
"She wanted to be a vessel," Ariel protested, "she even studied up on all things holy just so she could be perfect."
Dean nodded cynically.
"You'll need rest," said Cas protectively.
He took her immediate snores as a sign of agreement and went off in search of something to eat.
"I'm starved!" exclaimed Sam.
Within a few moments, Cas had returned with burgers and beer, which had become a staple food source for the trio over the past few years. The boys ate hungrily.
"So, you heard her scream because she's an angel, but I don't get it. What are we supposed to do with her now?" asked Dean.
"I don't know," said Cas, his gravelly voice sounding confused.
"Well, what happened with the towers back there?"
Cas looked hopeless.
"They're gone," he said. "Completely destroyed."
Dean closed his eyes sadly.
The Twin Towers had always reminded Dean of himself and Sam. They were so different, but when you looked at the big picture, they were one and the same.
It was interesting, watching these three look after Ariel. It was almost like they were afraid of becoming too attached and then losing her. I suppose that would make sense. Although I make it a point not to get too attached to anyone. They always seem to end up dead on the ceiling.
A/N: I would laugh at that except it's pretty sad.
I'm sorry these chapters are so short, they will get longer, I promise.
Are you enjoying it so far??Vomment! (vote/comment)
