Stop criticizing
What my generation is doing
When we're not the ones
Who left the economy in ruinsWe are not the ones
Lining the insides of our pockets
With underhand bribes
While the price of living skyrocketsWe are college kids
With large amounts debt we were forced into
To get even close
To the position you bought your way intoWe can't afford to live
So we set up online fundraisers
To pay for our health
While we feel like utter failuresIn case you don't recall
You were somehow young once too
But even then
Minimum wage payed enough for foodYou call my generation stupid
But we've been proven smarter
You call us all lazy and privileged
But we've all had to work harderI'd quite appreciate it
If you got off your high horse
And stop criticizing my generation
Because yours is much worse.
