I was swimming rapidly.
Swim, swim, swim! Don't stop, don't turn around, just go faster!
Hard to do, when you're injured.
Small cuts and scratches scattered my stomach and arms, and even a few on my face.
A large gash went from my ribs to my hips, and it bled quickly, making my skin paler and paler as time stretched on.
Screams rang out through the ocean. I knew it was fake.
It was the dryads.
My scream was next, echoing through the dark waters stained with blood.
My tail was pulled downward, and I felt whatever gripped me tear off my scales in excruciating pain.
Tears slipped from my eyes, the silver liquid leaching through the water.
Time continued to stretch on, my body humming with a stinge of heat as I lost more and more blood, and wished for death while my body didn't allow me to fall unconscious from the pain I was in.
"Aphmau." A soft female voice purred into my ear.
I screamed again and whimpered continually, sobbing liquid silver and gold from my copper eyes.
Needles of shock went up my spine, going through my neck and lungs and making my fatigue worse, as well as my wish for death, more scales ripping from my flesh.
"Up." They purred again, yanking my hair back and eliciting another scream from my lungs.
They continued whispering things to me as their hands made their way to the sides of my head, ready to snap my neck.
They twisted and -
"Wake up, Aphmau."
And finally, light returned to my world as I awoke from my nightmare.
