A beam of sunlight shined into my eyes as I groggily attempted to sit up. I blinked multiple times, still trying to see where I was. I took off my smudged glasses that I never had the motivation to clean and rubbed them with my shirt. I placed them back on and pushed them up the bridge of my nose. I attempted sitting up again, nope. I looked down to see another pair of arms around me. Ah! I grew another pair of arms whilst I slept. No, that doesn't seem that logical. Then it dawned onto me. I must have fallen asleep in the greenhouse with-
"Good morning, darling." Miles' raspy, morning voice brought a smile onto my face. I rolled over to see him. I had managed to go from sleeping on his chest to him hugging me from behind. Having someone's arms around me is usually a big no no for me, but for some reason it was different for him. I covered my mouth as I let out a small yawn.
"Morning Miles." I sat up and saw my bag sitting by the door still with the slightly rusted key placed atop. He sat up too and grabbed his jacket from off the floor.
"Where should we go?" Miles opened the greenhouse door and slid the key back under the mat. I honestly could just stay with you for ho- my thoughts cleared my mind when I realized I had just disappeared last night without telling Lola where I went. Overloaded with thoughts, I frantically left the backyard with Miles hot on my heels. In what felt like seconds I was in front of Books and Crannies with panting Miles behind me. I fumbled through my backpack to find my key to the store and found it in my back pocket. As I put the key into the lock, the door opened. I looked up before being knocked down by Lola.
"Chrysan! Where have you been? Are you okay? I've ringed your phone a thousand times. You didn't come home last night and I barely slept." Her voice was shaking, her eyes were bloodshot with bags under them, and she looked pale. Which is off since I'm the pale one, I had never seen her like this before.
"Lola I'm fine, I slept with Miles las- ah that wasn't what I meant. We fell asleep after going out, none of the diddly was done. I'm sorry for not answering my phone, it must have died last night." She looked me up and down and then at Miles.
"Christ, where did you sleep? The back of your jumper is filthy." I looked at the back of my sweatshirt that she was referring to and saw spots of dirt. I drew a blank, I had never told her about the garden. Miles could obviously read the expression on my face because as I opened my mouth he spoke.
"I found this one quiet hill and we just sort of fell asleep. I'm Miles by the way, I never got to introducing myself. We could go to the Café right down the block so we can sit down and chat."
"That would be lovely," I looked to Lola who gave a simple shrug. I knew she didn't trust him yet.

We sat down at an empty table, it was the table, after ordering. I looked down at the scratched paint and notes from others on it. A smile crept onto my face as I recognized the familiar handwriting. I felt Lola tapping my foot with hers to get my attention. I looked up with my curls in front of my face. I attempted to blow some out of the way and Miles smiled.
"By the way, I forgot the Netflix password again so I couldn't log back in last night," Lola broke the silence as she pushed her hair out of her face.
"Oh deary, I just need to write it down for you so you will stop forgetting it." I let out a laugh.
"Might I ask? Where are you from Lola? I've noticed that Chrysan has subtle bits of your accent or words you use."
"Born and raised in London, England. Moved here when I was 18 and found Chrys here." I love that nickname, it just sounds like something that rolls off her tongue. The meaning of here for Miles and me were two different things. By what he knows, he assumes that we met in America. But I know that we met here, in this Café, at this table. A worker came up and handed us our drinks and our food. Lola opened her lid and sighed.
"They always forgot the creme." She got up and went to the counter.
Miles slid his chair closer to me and stated, "You two have a beautiful friendship. It reminds me of a relationship I had once, very strong connection."
I looked at my hot cup of tea and shrugged.
"I've never been in a relationship so I've never felt what it's like to be close like that."
"Maybe we can be close like that."
"I'd like that."
