He stood there without a care in the world. I looked him up and down. Ha! A teacher that wears black converse, guess I'm going to like this teacher. He has class.
"So. What do you actually do in this class?" He asked with his soft voice. No one answered him. We all sat there with a puzzeled look on our faces as he hadn't introduced himself, said why he was here, he didn't know what he was doing and why Miss.Green wasn't in. "Why are you all sat there looking at me like that? Are you normal children?"
"Most of us are normal bar the wierdo's at the back! Especially that Collette!" shouted Mark. No way was I going to stand for that. I jumped up out my chair and ran straight at Mark. He was too busy laughing and so didn't even here my chair scrape along the floor. His scruffy blonde head eventually turned towards me and let out a squeal as he saw me raise my hand. He could see the rage in my face. The teacher ran towards me just as my hand was going to hit Marks face and pulled me back.
"No!!! He insulted me and I'm not going to stand for that!! Let me go!!" He had a hold of me by my waist trying to pull me away from Mark and out of the classroom. I just kept kicking and screaming like a 4 year old, who didn't get the sweets they wanted. He didn't have too tight of a grip on me and I managed to pull away and nearly hit Mark again. This time he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. Virtually dragging me out of the classroom by my arm, he managed to give the others some work to do whilst I was screaming over him. The door shut. We were outside by ourselves. Me and him.
I smacked the wall and then sat on the floor, with my back against the wall, knees against my chest. Salty black streams ran down from my eyes, over my cheeks and into a tissue that sir gave me. This new teacher sat down next to me and put his arm on my shoulder.
"Why did you go to hit that boy? You do know I could have called the police if you had hit him?" He talked to me as if I WAS a 4 year old. I could feel his eyes staring at me, trying to make contact with mine. My hands and knees began to shake. He took a hold of my hand and said "Hi. My name is Mr.Smith."
"And if you hadn't guessed, I'm Collette. Collette Forest." We shook hands and I giggled at how childish we were being. "So where is Miss.Green?" I couldn't help asking because I had 1:1 with Miss.Green next and if she wasn't in, I guessed I would have to do the 1:1 with him.
"Miss.Green..is...not....feeling very well. She is actually in the hospital for it. I'm just covering till she gets better." He looked really serious, so I left it at that. "I do believe after Form, I have a 1:1 session with you Collette?"
"Yes, that's right." As I said this, I looked up for the first time. He was staring right into me. I shivered. He helped me back up and back into the classroom.
As we walked in, Mark was still trembeling after the shock I gave him earlier. I give him a threatining look and made him look away. Mr.Smith walked to the desk and sat down, as I strutted to the back feeling refreshed after calming down. Dan pulled my chair out for me and handed me a tissue to wipe away the mascara that had ran down my cheeks. I then got my mascara out of my bag, along with a little mirror and started applying it.
"You okay?" Dan whispered. He looked so confused and yet so concerened about me. I knew I could always trust Dan.
But I had to say, "Yeah, of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" I went back to applying my make up and Dan went back to doing his work. Mr.Smith glanced up and gave me a little smile and nod. So I giggled, smiled and nodded back. 10 more minutes for the bell to go.
