"Life doesn't slow down, the speed just picks up and sometimes it feels like life is a set of wheels."
Walking alone in the rain wondering if i will make it in time. I glance at my phone to check the time; my eyes widen and I began to run. Running running, running straight through the doors. Running down the mase, looking at the numbers. The numbers are all a blur. One number doesn't blur, number 1219. I plant my feet down on the ground and almost fall. Finally stopped but the blood is rushing through my veins and making my heart beat faster and faster with every step I take. My shaky hand reaches for the handle and slowly pushes the door open. All heads turn to me with red puffy eyes. A frail voice comes from the place I don't wanna look. "Will everyone please leave?" Everyone shuffles out of the room and started crying again. I walk to the middle of the room and stared at the woman in the hospital bed. Her face once full of life now looks ghost white and sad. I sit in the chair beside the bed and take the woman's hand. "Hey honey." "Hey Grandma." My voice begins to crack and I'm trying my best to not let the tears fall. "For a second there I thought you would leave without saying goodbye." She looked at me her eyes full of love. "You know I would never leave without saying goodbye to you." "Thank you for waiting for me." "For you dear, anything." Her old eyes sparkled in the hospital lights. "Kyra I think it's time for me to go." "No Grandma! Just a few more minuets? Please?" "I can hear them angels singing. Can you hear them Kyra?" A tear escaped my eye and started to roll down my cheek. "Yeah Grandma I can hear them. They sound beautiful." "Now don't you cry. Them angels will take care of me." "Grandma when you get to heaven tell Grandpa Joe and Grandpa Danny I love them." "I will sweety. I will." She smiles at me and puts her hand on my cheek. "I love you Grandma." "I love you too Kyra." I leaned down and kissed her forehead, her eyes closed and she gasped. "I can see God's face." "I love you Grandma." Her hand fell from my cheek and hit the bed. The loud ringing noise that came from the heart monitor filled the room and that is the only thing I could hear. I sat still and stared blankly at my Grandma while people in white ran into the room and pronounced her dead. Nothing felt real. It all felt like a bad dream. I wanna wake up, but I can't wake up. When someone I know turns older or says something that happened to us a few years ago I feel old; I only feel old because life goes by so fast. "Best start putting first things first. Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand, you can't flip it over and start again. Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth. Don't blink." " But they don't slow down, The speed picks up, You start wishing you were young as soon as you grow up; And the farther you roll, The faster they spin, They drive you away and bring you home again, I swear sometimes it feels like life's just a set of wheels." Life goes by so fast and we don't even realize it until it's too late. Time can't be bought, that's why it's precious. You never know when you'll go. Always expect the unexpected.
