Chapter Nine

"'Hey Paula, I was wondering if you'd like to come over.'"

Y/N's POV

"Who's Paula?" I murmur out of disbelief and curiosity. Noodle stays looking at my toenails. "2D's ex." A small 'oh' is all I can get out. I let out a chuckle. What was I thinking? We barely know each other. He led you on. I sigh softly. The entire situation is so confusing. What did I do? I look over at Noodle again. "I need a drink." I tell her. She nods and yells for Murdoc. He saunters into the room. "Hey Noodle.. And Y/N?" I nod. "Can I have anything that will make me forget about everything?" I ask. "You don't have to ask twice." Murdoc lets out a creepy laugh and he licks his lips. He then leaves the room only to come back with a large bottle of whiskey and a pack of cigarettes. I thank him and light a cigarette as soon as I get my hands on one. I inhale and let out a sigh, feeling better already. I then open the bottle of whiskey and chug it. Everyone leaves you. I think to myself. Screw people, I can get a cat. Everything is a slight blur. Everything is funny. Everything is stupid. I hate and love everything in this moment. I chuckle and in my drunken state I become very flirty. "Muuurdocc~ Pickle boy~ C'mere." I slur. "Y/N. There is a child in the room" Russel says. "When did you get here?" I ask. "Who gave you whiskey?" He asks. "Pickle dick, that's who-- Get it? Because he's green?" I burst out laughing. Russel groans. "Come on Y/N. Let's get you some water."

Once sober again, I have a terrible headache. 2D won't be anything more than a friend to me, I won't let him be anything else. I cringe at myself. Why would I want him to be anything else? I put on a fake smile. I'm sitting across from Russel. "I'm gonna go home." I tell him. "Be careful, Y/N. Call if you need-- Just call for anything at all. I'll talk to you if you're sad." He replies. Opening the door to leave, I look back at Russel. "Thank you."
