Prologue

"Ethan!" I giggled as he held me in his arms bridal style, and jumped with me still in his arms into the pool. We emerged from the water  and Ethan didn't loose contact with me, as he admired my smile.

He looked deep into my eyes and held me tight against his toned body and told me for the first time he loves me. In that moment, I knew I loved him too. We may be only 17 years old, but boy, does he make me feel like the happiest girl alive.

We had been best friends since we were 8 years old, and have grown up so close. I was nervous about dating him, because I was afraid it would ruin our friendship if we ever broke up. But you can't fight love, so I forfeited the battle.

-5 years later, they are now 22-

My name is Della.

Around 3 years ago, when Ethan and I were 19, Ethan moved to Los Angeles for college. When he left, it was the hardest thing ever, I had lost my best friend and my boyfriend in one day.

We tried to keep in contact, but it seems like I was the only one who wanted our relationship to continue. He began to seem annoyed when I called, and was always busy, so I finally just stopped trying, and so did he. It's been 2 years and I haven't heard a single word from him. It shreds my heart into a million pieces to even think about him.

He forgot about me, but I sure as hell did not forget about him.

I moved to Los Angeles as well, around a year later, with my best friend Noelle. Our move was completely unrelated to Ethan, but I did secretly hope I would eventually run into him. Noelle is a photographer, and wanted to move to Los Angeles to get more job opportunities. I just tagged along. I work a job waitressing to help pay rent, it isn't much, but it pays the bills.

It also keeps me distracted from Ethan.
