A petite girl stepped off the train. Suitcase in her hand, and heart determined. She looked at the swarms of people running left and right. She looked for an exit. There had to be one somewhere.
The signs.. Where are the signs? She glanced left and right. No where in sight. How do people know where they're going? "Hello? Excuse me. Do you know where the exit is?" She said, tapping a stranger. The stranger looked at her with disgust, and continued with whatever they were doing before. "Alright then.. Time to just follow the crowd.." she mumbled, dragging her suitcase.
She sighed. She thought going back to her hometown would be a good thing. She could see old friends, and remind herself of old memories that had been lost in the depth of her mind. "Who's a old friend I used to play with.." she asked herself, as she crossed the flooded streets. "I don't.. remember... but I'm sure when I get there, there has to be some faces I know!" She said smiling. She continued to cross streets, and look at her map in hand."Excuse me, do you know--"
"Back off missy." said a woman, glaring at her.
"Someone's grumpy.." She mumbled as she continued looking at her map.
After a few minutes of walking around. She finally knew where she was going.
"Alright, a turn here.. And a-"
She stopped in her tracks, and looked into a narrow dark alley. Her ears were filled with voices, but she heard meowing out of the loudest. Curiosity took the best of her, and she marched right towards the small meowing. Her eyes began to shimmer as she saw a figure petting a small kitten.
"Hello?" She said. She was rather emotional, and sensitive to anything. Despite anything. She was soft-hearted and easygoing. A male looked her with a sleepy glance. Both gazes met each other for a instance, but was quickly broken by the male. She didn't know what to do, so she just stood there, looking at the kitten.
"You can go. I can take care of her." He mumbled picking up the cat, stroking it's pelt. She didn't feel the notion to leave. He began to slowly walk away. He seemed to more trudge along. Like he was dreading everything that surrounded him. Even her.
"I'm.. sorry did I say something that offended you?" She said taking a step closer to him.
"No. But.. please leave me alone." He mumbled once more, taking one more glance at her before walking at full pace. And there she stood. Still, looking at the figure walking away. She grunted.
"Alright then. I don't know, why everyone's so mean today.." She said, sighing. She went back to the street, with her suitcase clutched in a hand, and trying to make it to her hometown. Or more of her hotel in her hometown anyway...
