FLOWERS FOR ARMAGEDDON
CHAPTER ONE
Christa stared out the window late at night. The moon rose over the colossal Wall Rose. She knew that somewhere, outside the mysterious walls that only she knew the truth about, Ymir was somewhere, looking at the same moon. But where was she? Christa buried her face in her hands. Why did she let her join Reiner and Berthodlt? Why didn't she have the power to stop her? She pushed the thought out of her mind and slowly drifted off to sleep.
She woke the next morning in a daze. She shook off her grogginess and got to work. They had a lot of training to do. She rose up and stretched, then grabbed her jacket off the chair and wore it proudly. She strode down the halls with a fake smile. She saw Eren approach her.
"Hey Christa," he smiled gently and put his hand on her shoulder. "How are you holding up?"
She smiled brightly "I'm fine, why?" she said, knowing the obvious answer. She restrained the tears welling in her beautiful blue eyes.
Eren looked down, ashamed. "I-I'm sorry that I couldn't...couldn't save Ymir." He looked up at her with pain in his face.
The vibrant glow faded from Christa. "Eren, its fine. You did all that you could," she said with a sullen look. A tear slowly swelled in her eye and dripped down. She quickly brushed it away and grabbed Eren's hand.
"I promise though, I'll get her back!" Eren said dutifully. He locked fingers with Christa and look her in the eyes. "I-I don't care how many men it takes for that mission! I can promise tha-" Christa cut him off.
"Eren!" Christa shouted, quite out of character. She calmed down and let go of his hand. "She made her own decision..." Christa said. Another tear dripped onto Eren's boot. She trembled in welled up sadness and looked at the ground. She couldn't take it anymore. She threw her arms around Eren and burst into tears.
Eren stumbled back, surprised by the sudden display of affection. He allowed Christa to embrace him. He wrapped his arms around her back and comforted her. "Its okay, Christa. I promise you, we'll get her back. One way or another."
"Oi, Eren!" a commanding voice echoed down the corridor.
"H-heichou!" Eren let go of Christa, shocked. Christa looked over in the direction of the voice, her face red and tear stained.
A small but proud figure stood in the midst of the hallway. "Eren, get your sorry ass over here," Levi said, looking off to the side. Eren walked down the hallway. Christa fell to her knees, sobbing softly. "Historia," Levi said. Christa looked up at the corporal. "Come with us for the Trost gate inspection."
Christa nodded and stood up. Eren grabbed her hand and smiled at her. She looked down and blushed. She even slightly smiled a bit at Eren's feeble attempt to have a chance with her. Her heart belonged to Ymir.

"Ymir, stop dragging your feet and hurry up" Reiner's gruff voice commanded. Ymir, Berthodlt and Reiner all trekked through an open field. "We're almost to Utgard Castle."
"Yeah, yeah, you've been saying that for the last hour" Ymir snapped. She looked behind her. She enormous walls seemed so far in the distance now; it was as if looking at a miniature city. Ymir gritted her teeth and looked at the two burly men in front of her. Her rage festered inside of her for them. I gave up a perfectly good life for them, she thought. But as long as Christa is happy, then I'm happy.
