' dude are you tapping that honey?' asked Ben as he knowingly eyes Cathy, I swivel my head to face him at the same time blocking Ben's view of Cathy who is oblivious to the conversation. her pretty strawberry blond head of hers is nodding along in agreement to everything's the biology teacher is babbling on about. Bens question irks me, for some reason my blood boils at the thought of another guy catching interest in the only girl to ever cause a riot on my senses. 'No! I say( more like shout) Mr. Peter pauses when everyone's attention is captured by my out burst, annoyed by my disruptive behavior Mr peter bunches his bushy gray eyebrows together and glares menacingly at me, the look of disappointment from Cathy cause me to duck my head in shame. My face burns with embarrassment Ben's eyes question me " no, I am not sleeping with her' yet" l sigh clearly irritated Ben looks at me and catches the drift of my mood he turns and faces the teacher knowing I am no longer interested in our conversation.

Cathy's POV.

" Go out with me, tonight" I looked up, stunned by Atticuse" huh" I asked completely dumbfounded ; if my answer wasn't evidence enough. " I want you Cathy. go on a date with me tonight." " I don't .... the thing is... why? I ask Atticuse. " why not, Cathy" " your beautiful, intelligent and kind and I can't stop thinking of you." Atticuse said softly " no, Atticuse I can't go out with you." I don't know what made me say no' but I now regret it.

Cathy mad caped straight out of the library, fear and embarrassment fueled her hastily departure. Cathy ran franticly down the capacious hallway not stopping until her lungs painfully squandered with exhaustion. Cathy finally stopped and leaned on one of the granite statues to catch her depleting breath. Atticuse voice ran inside my head like a broken record, feeling like the coward she is, Cathy slide down until her buttocks met the cold floor. why did he say all of those things to me, Cathy thought, I should have said yes, I mean isn't that what I wanted in the first place.
