Gushes of gentle breezes flowed over a beach as the ocean's waves splashed onto the grainy ground. Half-buried seashells were uncovered by the water, dragged back into the sea by the undertow. Seagulls squawked madly as they plopped down on the sand and began nabbing hermit crabs out from their burrows. A large, bulky dragon walked onto the beach with a joyous gait in his steps and breathed in the salty smell of the air. The top of his body was a chocolate brown color while the middle of his main body was a bright orange. He sported a beige underbelly, and sported a pair of short curved horns. His huge chocolate-colored wings were tucked beside his body, feeling the leathery membranes swishing in the direction of the wind. The MudWing smiled as he smelled the salty sea air once more. Out of nowhere, a smaller, light-blue dragon with bioluminescent markings and a teal underbelly bolted past the MudWing, giggling happily.
"Tsunami, can't you wait for the others to get to the beach before jumping in?" The MudWing asked. Tsunami giggled a little louder.
"Why do you wanna wait? Is our Bigwings afraid of the water?" Tsunami teased.
"I'm not afraid! I just think we should wait for the others to catch up." Clay said.
"Yeah, okay. You can go sit in the little corner over there where the hatchlings play and make some sand castles." Tsunami said. The female SeaWing bursted out in laughter when the MudWing suddenly pounced on her, playfully throwing her into the sand. The two friends tackled and chased each other around the beach, frolicking like little dragonets. A jet-black dragon with a dark-grey underbelly walked towards the beach, unfolding his wings halfway to warm them in the sun. The underside of his wings sported spontaneously beautiful markings that heavily resembled stars, hence his name Starflight. As Starflight laid down on the warm sand, a vibrant green dragon with large, bright orange wings and a light greenish-grey underbelly appeared from the brush, followed by a smaller and very energetic golden dragon with a light grey underbelly. The green dragon's body was draped in gorgeous arrays of blue and yellow coloring while the front of her face sported a large band of blue color. Starflight looked at Glory as the RainWing began inspecting her talons.
"Aren't you going to join Tsunami and Clay, Glory?" Starflight asked. Glory paused her inspection and looked at the NightWing.
"No, I got better things to do than play in the sand like a dragonet." Glory snarkily replied. The energetic golden SandWing, Sunny, dug a hole in the sand, unearthing a crab that had been hiding underneath, grabbing the crustacean in her jaws. The little SandWing looked like any of her kind, but her scales were brighter than the other SandWings and she lacked the deadly stinger located at the end of her tail that they possessed. Nontheless, Sunny paid little attention to her differences and proudly held the crab up for the others to see.
"Hey, guys! I found a crab!" Sunny exclaimed. The crab lifted one of its pinchers and clamped them on Sunny's snout, causing her to yelp.
"OWW!!" Sunny yelped, immediately dropping the crab. The crab hastily scurried away into a pocket of sand that was too shallow for Sunny to dig through."MY CRAAAAAAB!" Sunny wailed. Glory could barely stiffle a laugh as she watched Sunny attempt dig up her would-be prey. Clay and Tsunami paused their play-fighting and walked over to the three other dragons.
"Hey, guys. You finally caught up." Clay said, smiling.
"Yeah, thanks for waiting for us." Glory replied in a cold tone. Sunny dove her head into the sand, pulling out another crab.
"Guys, I found another-" Sunny was cut off when the crab pinched her snout yet again. Sunny yelped once more as she stumbled on her hind legs, clumsily waddling around while desperately attempting to remove the crab from her snout. Clay laughed as he swatted the crab away from Sunny with one fell swipe of his talons, crushing the crustacean under his paw. Sunny happily nuzzled Clay's chin and hungrily gulped down the crab. Tsunami managed to nab a shark that had strayed too close to the shore, dragging it towards the beach. Clay and Starflight shared the meal with Tsunami, while Glory simply yawned and curled herself up into a ball with intent to take a good nap.

The sun began to set, the once blue sky was now deep orange. All the creatures began to settle in their homes. Clay and his friends huddled together, watching the sun slowly melt away into the ocean. The five young adult dragons looked on in awe. Watching the sunset was always a beautiful sight to witness. Tsunami inched closer to Clay, wrapping her left wing around his back.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Tsunami said, resting her head on Clay's shoulder. Clay looked at her with a smile.
"Yeah. Aren't we glad we got out of the cave." Clay replied, earning a chuckle from Tsunami. It was a beautiful day like any other. No more worries, no more wars, no more sadness... Just Clay and his friends together living in peace.
