the three headed out for the park, taking a short walk there since it wasn't too far from the apartments that jackson and daniel lived in.

mark and jackson walked on both sides of daniel, holding the boy's hands and they strolled along to the park. once they arrived, daniel ran straight to the swings and hopped up onto one.

"push me daddy!" daniel exclaims, kicking his feet to try and get the swing to move. jackson chuckles, running over to behind the swing and gently pushing him. mark catches up, sitting in the swing next to daniel.

"need me to push you too?" jackson says, laughing. mark shakes his head, joining in with jackson's laughter.

mark couldn't believe how undeniably happy he felt when he was with jackson. he had never felt so comfortable around someone in such a short amount of time, he usually was so shy and kept to himself. but with jackson it just felt different, he didn't know what was going on with himself.

daniel giggled as his father pushed him higher on the swing, holding onto the bars tightly as to not fall off. daniel yelled happily as he saw some of his friends from school, waving his hands. he hopped off the swing, running over to them. it had been a while since he'd seen his school friends, everyone was on holiday recently. so he was definitely happy to see them for the first time in a while.

"well," jackson says, laughing softly and sitting in the gravel. "looks like it's just you and me now."

mark chuckles and hops off the swing, settling down next to jackson in the gravel. "looks like it."

"i'm glad he gets to see his friends," jackson says, "i know he's missed them."

mark hums in response, leaning against jackson's shoulder. jackson couldn't help but feel his cheeks heat up when mark did this. he looked down at the other, watching as his deep brown eyes looked up at the sky. his eyelashes fluttered as he scanned over the clouds.

"looks like a fish," mark says, "the cloud." he points upward, causing jackson's eyes to follow his hand.

"it does!" jackson says, laughing happily. "a fishie."

mark chuckles, leaning all the way now that his head was laying on jackson's thigh.

"better cloud watching angle," mark says, his cheeks tinting pink. "that one looks like a triangle."

jackson was somewhat speechless at the moment; he couldn't help but feel that it was the perfect position to steal a kiss from mark. thoughts flew through his head as he stared down at the other.

"jackson?" mark says, his eyes going from the clouds to meeting jackson's puppy-like eyes. "you okay?"

"oh," jackson says, mentally telling himself 'snap out of it, jackson!'. "yeah, yeah, i'm good."

jackson was still thinking about it, though. his gut was telling him to just do it, and he usually never turned down a gut instinct.

"imsorrymarkbutimgonnadothis–" he stammers out quickly, leaning down and stealing a short, but sweet kiss from the other.

"i'm sorry!" jackson says, his face completely red now. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry i just–"

"jackson," mark interrupts, smiling softly. his cheeks were red, and on fire at that. "don't apologize."

"o–kay," jackson says, hesitating between the word. "i didn't mean to make you uncomfortable–"

"jackson, hush," mark says, sitting up. "i'm not uncomfortable. i've been waiting for one of us to make a move."

"really?" jackson says, rubbing the back of his neck. "you're just so cute and handsome and nice and? and i like you?" jackson says, realizing what he had just said. "wait, i just, ah!" jackson says, holding his head in his hands.

"jackson," mark repeats for the nth time, a smile on his lips. "i like you too."

"you do?" jackson says excitedly, his head perking up again.

"yes, stupid," mark chuckles, looking at him. "i guess it wasn't that obvious."

"wow," jackson says, about to continue his sentence when he hears daniel and his friends running back towards them.

"daddy!" daniel says, panting. he and his friends were covered in mud and grass, a puppy in daniel's arms.

"daddy can we please, please, please keep him! look at how cute!" daniel says, plopping the muddy puppy into jackson's lap. the puppy shakes, flinging dirt and mud onto both jackson and mark.

"danny..." jackson sighs, wiping the mud off of his face. "i don't know..."

"please daddy?" daniel says, giving jackson those eyes that could sway anyone. "i love him so much and he'll be the best puppy ever!"

jackson exchanged glances with mark, who was laughing softly and trying to get the mud out of jackson's hair.

"i guess we can," jackson says, cracking a smile. "let's go home and get you washed up."

"yay!" daniel exclaims, hugging the puppy and jackson both.
