“Sarah? Daydreams over, we’ve gotta get to class. We can’t be late on our first day back,” said Daisy with a smug expression on her face.
“Oh, sorry, I was miles away.” I said blushing.
“Too busy dreaming about that mystery man from Club Revolution huh?” She looked at me slyly.
It had been our last chance to party before our summer holidays ended, then we came back to our final year in sixth form before heading off to universities all over the country. As soon as I got to the bar I was mesmerised, the guy serving drinks was beautiful, dark brown hair floppy over his forehead, hanging just above his beautiful brown eyes; they were so intriguing I couldn’t look away. I sighed.
“Aww! Sarah’s in love!” she chuckled and winked at me.
“What?! Whoa! Sarah! How’ve you not told us this?” The boys Aiden and Zach’s ears suddenly pricked up and they turned around with both shocked and amused faces.
“I’m not in love! I just met a guy this weekend…”
“What!” Amber spluttered as the final member of our friendship group entered the conversation.
They all looked at me, I’m supposed to be the innocent one and here they all are desperate to hear if the unthinkable has happened. I couldn’t prevent a small grin from escaping onto my lips.
I looked around the hall everyone gathered in before lessons and noticed people were already trying to listen in on the conversation, the table next to us was the popular group; your classic jocks and cheerleaders, they were leaning towards us hoping to get the dish of the first lot of gossip this year.
Well, it wasn’t coming from me; I shook my head, trying to remove the smile that had been permanently fixed on my face.
“Right!” Amber and Daisy said in unison. “Us girls have geography together next, and you're gunna spill everything.”
I rolled my eyes as Amber dragged me away, Daisy following with a huge grin on her face knowing what’s to come.
We sat down, the back left corner had been our spot for the previous two years and had been the location of lots of gossip and secrets been revealed, we immediately resumed our seats. Amber sat next to me.
“Sooo…”
“I met this guy…”
“Come on Sarah! I need details, Daisy knows!”
“Well, he was serving behind the bar at Club Revolution and he was gorgeous! I couldn’t help but stare, he was at the other side of the bar so I never thought he’d notice me. Then I just heard, “Like what you see?” I focused to realise he was talking to me with a little smirk on his face."
I paused and giggled at Amber's shocked face, I mean I know I can be shy but I do talk to guys, and when I'm drunk it's near impossible to shut me up!
I continued, 'I was so embarrassed, and I started to try to think of an excuse but he just laughed and asked what I wanted, he went to get our drinks and when came back we got talking and he asked for my number! I couldn’t believe it!”
“No way!” Amber screeched, it was a good job Mrs Griffin was running late!
“There’s more” Daisy said laughing at Amber’s shocked face.
