Son of the Night

The Journey Begins

                     Chapter 2

                   Nocturn's P.O.V.

One Week Later

  Finally it was here, the day I got my freedom. Floe had decided to become a Glaceon after hours of thought. After spending the day with our family and friends night finally came then it happened.  I evolved into an Umbreon, a creature of night. The moon light caused my new sleek black fur to shine. The rings on my body were glowing brightly.  Happiness was the only emotion I felt right now. I heard two voices heading my way, I knew who they were right off the bat.  I smirked and decided to hide so they wouldn't find me. A few minutes later Floe and Thunder walked into the clearing I had just been standing in. Thanks to my night vision I could see their faces. Floe's face was priceless,  a deep blush burned her cheeks and a flustered look was plastered on her  face light blue face. Thunder was smiling , like always. He suggested they sit and look at the stars. Maybe I should leave them alone I debated. After about a minute I decided to leave them and let them enjoy eachothers company. After leaving the two lovebirds at the clearing I started to gather the things I'd need in my journey.  Lets see berries, some Poké, and of course my scarf and bowtie I thought about the last item and laughed to myself. Everyone thought it was weird that I wore such a 'human' item, but you know what I thought. Bowties are cool! I smirked at that thought, Floe always did tease me about it, but I didn't care. We all have are own opinions about things. Now that all my things were packed I had to tell my family about my plans. Yah I literally hadn't told them about this yet, but I know that they would understand after all they had told me to do what I wanted to do in life. I knew Floe would take it the hardest. I was her brother and one of her best friends, though I knew she would have someone to take care of her. Thunder came to me a few weeks ago and told me he had feelings for her, he made very clear not to tell Floe.  If there was I thing I could do best it was keep a secret. I remembered it like it was yesterday.

                     Flashback

  I was walking through a field of grass when I heard pawsteps running toward me. I turned to see Thunder galloping right in my direction. "Hey Thunder" I called to the Jolteon He nodded stopping next to me. "Nocturn I need you to keep a secret" he informed me. My brow furrowed in confusion. Why me, why not Floe or his brother, Neptune? the thought sent the wheels in my brain spinning. "What is it?" I asked him. His cheeks turned a light pink. My eyes widened. Did he like Floe back? that thought made me smirk a little. " Does it have to do with my sister?" I questioned pretending to look protective over her. "W..well yes it does" he sputtered out. A bright smile came across my muzzle.  Floe would be so happy. Thunder liked her back. "I guess you found out my secret without me even telling you huh?" the Jolteon was looking at the ground. "Yep" I said simply. "Please don't tell her" he begged. "What? Why not?" I was now very confused again.  "Well I kinda planned to tell her after the party on your guys' birthday" he confessed. "Alright I won't tell her loverboy"I mocked him. He mumbled something under his breath. "Hey I'm just playing around Thunder" I assured my friend. "Thanks Nocturn" Thunder told me. Then he bolted off back to his home.

              End of Flashback

I smiled a when I saw Floe skipping into our den followed by a dazed looking Thunder. Floe stopped jumping around when she saw my bag. "Are you going somewhere Nocturn?" she cocked her head to the side. "Ya" I told her. "Oh where?" her curiosity didn't make this easier. "Whats this about my son going someplace now?" dad said as he walked into the den. Ma walked in soon after, all four looked at me for an explanation. Well here it goes I gulped. "I'm leaving" shock riddled their faces. "W..why?" Floe asked tears gsthering in her eyes. "There is only so much I can do here and I want to explore farther than Oakwood" I told her. She grabbed Thunder and wept into his course fur. "Are you sure this is what you want Nocturn?" my mother looked at me with sad eyes. "Yes ma I thought about it for a long time, this is what I want to do" I assured her. "You know we'll be waiting for you to visit us son" dad told me. "I know" I smiled knowing they accepted my choice. "I'll miss you Nocty" Floe said in a sad voice. "I'm gonna miss you to Floe, but I know Thunder will take care of you" I looked at the Jolteon seriously. He saluted as if excepting the task.

The Next Morning

  I waved goodbye to my family and Thunder. "Oh Nocturn wait I forgot to give you something" Floe raced back into the den came back out with a fez. Oh my Arceus how did she find one I stared at the hat the same red as my bowtie. "I know you wanted one" she told me after placing the rare object atop my head. "How did you find this?" I asked still shocked. "It doesn't matter how I found it Nocturn" she smiled brightly and hugged me tightly before going back to Thunder's side. "Well I guess this is the start of my journey then" I told them. They all nodded knowing that's all they needed to do. I turned and started running towards my new life. There was only one word I could yell to the world at this moment "Geronimo!"
