"Look at them girl! I'm so proud!" Mina squeals as she watches Royalty and Victor sit amongst the crowd of their graduating class.
"Me too!" Bethany says wiping her tears. I giggle and shake my head at the two. From the distance I see Ro making eyes with her boyfriend but of course Victor had to flirt with every girl that seemed up to his standards. He was all his father, in every way. The way he talked, the way he looked, and his attitude. He was such a smart ass.
He was tall, standing at six foot two. His black curls always needed taming and god forbid you cut them, he'd have a heart attack. All his hair always stayed in a ponytail or a man bun, occasionally he'd let someone braid the curly mess. His face was a splitting image of his fathers. Strong jawline, dimples in his cheeks when he smiled, his vibrant grey eyes, bushy brows that were somehow naturally perfect. Freckles dances around his cheeks if you stared long enough to notice. We thought he was going to look like me but hey... things change.
His voice... he held a Spanish accent and loved to whisper things in the language. I was far ahead of him thigh and knew everything his smart ass was saying. Royalty was quiet, to herself. She never got in trouble and was all about her school work. She was also all her daddy. Her black curls traveled down her back, same smile with the dimples, she didn't have the freckles but she's held the same eyes. Her voice was light and always made you smile.
I was proud of both my babies. They began to call up students and I got excited. Ro smiles widely and grips her brothers hand and I see him let out a chuckle. He pulls her closer to him and places a kiss on her cheek.
"They ain't have no nachos niña, so I just got you popcorn. That good?" Ryan asks coming to sit back next to me. I nod and take the food from him. Maria hops onto her daddy's lap and hugs her arms around him. He chuckles and plays in her curls.
Maria was our youngest daughter, she looked like me but of course held her fathers eyes.
"Es por eso que te dije que te fueras a dormir anoche María, ahora estás cansado bebé." Ryan's raspy voice says to her. She pouts and hides her face into his neck.
"Bueno, yo quería dormir contigo y con mamá!" She complains.
"Me and mommy were busy last night." He says sending me a wink. I blush and look away from him. Awhile back when he sent that voicemail about killing himself I was scared as hell. Even though I wanted to I didn't check if he was okay, I was still scared for me and the twins. Thankfully the gun wasn't loaded. We met again two years later when I was shopping for their second birthday party.
He followed me around the grocery store, even though he says that we were just both looking for the same things. He finally stopped me and asked me in we could talk and of course I agreed. When we got back to the house and I put the sleeping twins in their room, it's safe to say not much talking got done. Ever since that day he's been in our lives and he hasn't laid a finger on me not once.
"Royalty Sofia Gonzalez!" One of the teachers say and Ryan shoots up from his seat, Maria hanging onto him for her dear life.
"That's my baby! Fuck yeah! You get that diploma Royalty! Fuck it up baby!" He yells making me tug on his shirt to sit him back down after I let out my cheers to her. His smile widens as they call Victors name.
"Victor Santiago Gonzalez!" The same teacher calls out.
"That's my boy! You did that shit! Snatch that shit from that bi-" I yank him down by his shirt before he can finish.
"Why do you always have to be so dramatic?" I giggle and he shrugs his shoulders and smiles at me as he breathes heavily. He leans forward to press a kiss on my lips for a short moment. He sits back in his chair and places his hand on my growing stomach.
"That's definitely his daddy's child." Bethany whispers pointing at Victor who was now beginning to get swarmed by a group of girls. Mina laughs and nods her head. I smile and sit back in my seat before leaning my head on Ryan's shoulder.
"I love you." He mumbles to me with a goofy smile on his face.
"I love you Ryan." I say making him bite his lip and turn his attention back to his two oldest children.
