Chapter 9 - The secret

[Miya]

I've been trying to avoid Maya for the past two weeks, even at home I tried to make myself busy so that I don't have to talk to her. I just don't want to hear her nag to me about telling Jungkook the truth.

I walk down the hallway after lunch and saw Maya in front of me. I tried to run away before she notice me but-

"Miya! Stop there!" She yelled from across the hallway but I kept on running. Until I bump into Jongmin.

"Oh Miya, I'm sorry." I shake my head and bow to him a little.

"YA! You really!" Maya came beside me.

"What's going on?" Jongmin asked.

"Nothing." Maya said and pull my wrist. She pulled me to the field outside.

"Why are you avoiding me?" I look anywhere but her eyes. "Is it because of Jungkook?"

Silent....

"You can't keep this a secret." she said. "Time's ticking and what? You want to tell him the day when we're leaving?"

"You're leaving?" I heard a voice came behind me and I knew it was none other than Jungkook. I close my eyes. I don't want him to know this way.

"Jungkook-ah." Maya said. I look her straight in the eyes. "Mian." after she said that she left us. I turn around and face Jungkook.

"Is it true? You're actually leaving?" he said and I sense a bit of sadness in his voice and his face.

I nodded my head slowly. He came closer to me and pull my wrist to the nearest bench we see.

"Tell me from the start. There must be a reason." he said calmly. I took out my phone and start typing.

'Ever since the incident happen between me and Jiyoung, my parents realize I should start fresh and new. Live in a new environment so that I can forget about my trauma. They will send me to a therapy too. They have discuss it with me. Maya and Minguk oppa think it's a good idea.' I type and let him read.

"When does this happen?" he asked again.

'After you asked me to be your girlfriend.' he read it and sighed.

"What do you think?" he asked me. "Do you agree it too?"

'I can help but to agree also. I don't want to live in this nightmare anymore. As much as I love Minho oppa, I want to change myself too. I don't want to be the silent Miya anymore and burden everyone around me' I let him read.

After I read the text, I can't help but agreed to what she said. As much as I love her, I want what best for her and I believe this is the best for her.

"How long will you be leaving?" I asked her with a heavy heart.

'One year or more.' she typed. I sighed heavily.

"When will you be leaving?" I asked her again.

'A week from now. I was going to tell you but I just can't. We were just started dating and...' she's a bit hesitate to write some more.

'It hurts my heart to leave you behind.' my heart can't help but to feel sad.

"I hate to watch you leave too." I said and my eyes start to water. "All I want is best for you and I know this is what's best for you."

She start to cry and my tears also felt down to my cheeks. I pull her closer and hug her. I don't know what will happen when she leave for real.
