As the second quarter was almost over with three minutes till half time, the game was getting pretty intense when they called him onto the field. We had ten seconds left when a player from our team threw the ball to Dillion. Dillion jumped to catch it, but didn't even make it to the ground before he got hit. About two guys from the opposing team went on each side of him and literally crushed him. He was flipping backwards and I can swear I've never seen a guy body bend the was his did. Everyone got up except for Dillion. He didn't even move a muscle. The coaches and referees rushed to his side. I was utterly shocked. Was he okay? I looked away for a minute and closed my eyes to think. I turned back he still hadn't move.

It had been about six minutes. Nothing. I couldn't take it anymore and ran onto the field. The coach said he hadn't said a word since he got it. His eyes were open a little, but not much. They called the ambulance over to bring a gurney. I held his hand the entire time. As they were rolling him off the field I heard a little voice. Then Dillion's hand squeezed mine tightly. I turned to see him smiling at me. "Dillion!" I screamed. Everyone turned to see Dillion smiling. This lady came running onto the field shouting his name. He slowly turned his head. "Mom.." "Oh my goodness. Are you okay baby?" She asked, trembling with fear. "Yea mom. How did you get here?" He said looking at her confused. "I was picking up Drew when aunt Sarah called me. But who cares. Are you sure you are alright?" He nodded and looked at me. "Yea. I had Dillion by my side." He smiled at me. She looked at him confused. "Mom this is my girlfriend Dillion." She came up to me hugging me tightly. I politely hugged back just as right. "Ouch!" Dillion whimpered, holding his rib cage.

"Okay you two ride in the ambulance to the hospital. I'll drop off your brother then meet you two there." We nodded. We got into the ambulance truck and his hand tightened mine as he ached in pain. "Dillion.." He said. "Huh?" "Can I call you Dill? Since we both have the same name." I giggled and looked at him. Out of all the pain and stuff, that's one thing he really wanted to ask. "Yea.. Can I call you teddy bear?" He smiled and nodded. Closing his eyes.

When we finally got to the hospital he was rushed to the surgery room. I stayed in the waiting room till I saw his mother. "Hey Hun. What's the news on Dillion?" She asked taking a seat by me. "They haven't told me anything yet." She nodded. "Oh and I'm Mychelle." She said extending her hand. I smiled and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you Mychelle." "Mychelle and Dillion?" A doctor said walking into the waiting room. We stood up quickly. "We have some good new and bad news." I got worried and by the look at it, Mychelle did too. "Good news is Dillion will be okay," we sighed in relief. "Bad news is he has two broken ribs, mild concussion, and a sprained ankle. We will have to keep him for a week to make sure everything stays good. But he's in his room and would like to see y'all." He said, smiling and walking out.
