The First Bonfire (bands)

''On July 8, 2017, My brother and I arrived at fandom camp. Our head counselors were named Dan and Phil. They were part of the group that started the camp.'' By now, about ten people were gathered around me, listening intently to my story.

One guy in the back raised his hand. "Wait, do you mean THE Dan and Phil were your head camp counslers?" He asked excitedly.

"Yes, THE Dan and Phil were my head counslers.'' I said " Now back to the story..."

Phil showed my brother to the Pentaholic cabin, while Dan showed me to the 5sosfam cabin. There were red and blue flannels and black skinny jeans on each bunk. "These are your fandom uniforms" Phil informed me. "Your cabin leader, Ashley, will explain more about the cabin rules later, but for now, go unpack and get ready for the camp bonfire."

After I finished packing and changing into my uniform, I began to explore.

First, I explored the band side of camp, which was where I was. Next to the 5sosfam cabin, was the Directioners cabin. When I peeked through the window of one of the cabins, I saw a girl hanging up a Harry Styles poster, while her friend was playing the guitar. Their uniforms were red and grey letterman jackets and hoodies. 

As I was walking over to the Pentaholics cabin, a Directioner wearing a red hoodie skipped over to me and introduced herself. "Hi! I'm Keari, is it your first year here too?" She seemed really friendly. "Yah, actually I was just exploring, did you want to come with me?" I asked. She nodded her head and we walked, and talked until the bonfire.

I learned that Keari was actually a part of the 5sosfam, but a few months in, she discovered 1 Direction. We learned that we only lived across the city from each other. We were also excited when we found out that we would be in the same fan fiction workshop! 

At the bonfire, I sat with Mel and Keari. Mel's uniform was completely yellow from head to toe. In fact, most of the pentaholics were wearing solid colors. There were black, blue, green, pink, and yellow outfits. A squad of Harmonizers walked past us in leggings, cropped sports jerseys, and black and red mini dresses. There was also a group of people from the  Twenty One Pilots clique wearing red beanies and snapbacks, black hoodies, and N.A.S.A. t-shirts. It was cool how you could tell which fandom you were from based on your uniform.

As I was introducing Keari to my brother, I heard cheering. Phil was here, and he was dressed up in a lion onesie. "Welcome all of you to the fandom camp!" Phil said "It is an honor to have you all here!" The crowd roared as he said this. "Today is our first official bonfire! And we will be explaining the rules for the fandom camp Books vs Bands competition which will be beginning tomorrow! First I need you to give a warm welcome to my good friend Dan!" the crowd went wild when he came out in a green dinosaur onesie. "I can't believe you actually convinced me to wear this stupid outfit!" Dan complained. "Well, it is the first day of camp, so you'll have to deal with it Dan." said Phil mockingly. "Speaking of the first day, we have yet to explain the rules of the Books vs Bands competition!" 

Here were the basics: Book fandoms like Potterheads (Harry Potter), Tributes (The Hunger Games), Initiates (divergent), Twilight fandom, and Gladers (the maze runner), will be competing against Band Fandoms like Directioners (1D), Pentaholics( Pentatonix), the 5sosfam (5sos), The Clique(Twenty One Pilots), and Harmonizers (5th harmony). Fandoms will  learn and compete in fandom workshops/ classes. Points will be given for good behavior, Knowledge, and skill. The fandom from each section (books & bands) with the most points will go to the finals. Those two fandoms will compete in the final surprise round and the winning fandom will meet their band or author/ movie cast!

Dan explained that we would be meeting the "books" tomorrow, but that we would be meeting their head counsler tonight. When Dan and Phil left, a man in a banana suit walked up to where Dan and Phil were standing. "Hello everybody! I'm John Green!" He said...
