Third Person P.O.V
Zac raised his head to the flying ball of heat above his head as he ran, leaves crunching under his feet. The wind and adrenaline ushered him on, his blood pumping through his veins as he struggled to keep up with the Phoenix. He jumped up and grabbed a branch using his momentum to sit upon the crest of the tree, where the branches forked out into different limbs. Holding his arm out as the inferno bird cooled down and looped around, flying towards him.
"You have to be kidding me! We didn't have to go out tonight," Ignacio whined as he landed upon Zac's arm. He moved towards his shoulder and nestled into his hood. Zac huffed a sigh, tilting his head to look at the starry sky above them. "don't ignore me Zachariah, it's cold out here!" the Phoenix cried. Zac simply smiled and cradled Ignacio's head in his hand.
They sat in silence staring at the stars, their nightly activity that happened almost every night. After some while Ignacio moved out of his hood and waddled over to a branch, his feathers molting as he sat upon higher, human. Zac slowly stood up and balanced his way over to the blonde, sitting between his legs, leaning back so his head was on his chest. Ignacio took the time to prune the beautiful Albino's hair, combing it out so he could see his face.
"Can you stop touching my hair and just look at the sky? God you're annoying you idiot." Zac snarled playfully. They both laughed in unison as fireflies made the illusion of shooting stars right before their eyes. However Ignacio wasn't paying attention to the night sky from the perfect view of his branch, he had another perfect view. Zac's glistening red eyes were a sight to behold itself, the way his pupils darted from one side to the other watching the fireflies. And just below his eyes above the pale skin of his cheek, were dark circles of restless nights.
The way his mouth curved slightly hid his pain, the subtle intakes of breath hid his agony. It didn't matter to Ignacio though, although he is forever worried about him, he'll never admit it. He knows the beautiful Hellscythe tries to keep it secret, he's scared. Zac flipped around into his elbows and looked into Ignacio's eyes, using his palms to cup his cheeks. Zac punched Ignacio's chest lightly and purred at the blond. He smiled brightly, "Cold nights are the best nights, you secrete more body heat."
"So is that all I am now, a heater?"
"No you're much more than that, your kind and very good at waking me up in the mornings, almost to the point when it get's annoying. You are not a rooster you know, you're a bird but not one that needs to be out at the break of dawn."
"So now I'm a heating alarm clock?"
"Yes, exactly!"
Ignacio let out a chuckle, pleased with his response. The bicker they share only builds their bond stronger, it's part of who they are. They looked up and pointed to the clouds circling them, Zac squinted while Ignacio only raised his eyebrows. Clouds didn't come along often where they stayed, they were as rare as a rainbow even during the day. Ignacio shook it off and caressed Zac's cheek, while Zac closed his eyes and leaned into the sweet gesture.
The former Phoenix set his head back and closed his eyes as the crickets came out to join the choir of breaths and rustling of tree leaves. His fingers traveled through the white hair, getting tangled into his locks. It had been fifty-two minutes since they had left home, and Zac was starting to stir. Ignacio gently grasped his chin and led his lips to his, a gentle kiss.
Zac pulled away, a light blush dusted his cheeks. His lips full and wet, he sat back on his heels waiting for Ignacio, keeping his mouth parted slightly. They smiled and took each other's lips again, Zac's hands finding their way to the back of Ignacio's head for support. The kisses were slow and passionate, tending to each other's needs before their own.
Coming up for air when needed, and when they pulled away they were breathless. Ignacio pulled Zac into his arms and rested his chin on the top of his head. Both smiling widely, suddenly a flash of static electricity struck about two miles away. Thunder rolled across the sky, making them both jump. Ignacio rubbed Zac's back and stared into his eyes as the thunder growled.
Zac reluctantly crawled out of Ignacio's embrace and jumped out of the tree, starting to walk on. A burst of fire and the inferno bird flew out of the tree, landing into Zac's shoulder. "You're so fashionable," Zac smiled. Ignacio wrapped himself around Zac's neck, curling and purring. "just like a feather boa."
"Hey Zac,"
"Hmm? What's on your mind?"
"Maybe you're right."
"About what?.."
A ripple of silence passed as hushed creaks of trees, croaks of frogs, and chirps of crickets soothed them.
"Cold nights are the best..."

——————Woah. Woooah. I didn't think I was capable of that, that kiss melted my heart. Like, I'm dead as of now.
Well that was cool, I have something planned for those clouds as well. You'll see but for now you'll wait smiles innocently. Anyways, give me some feedback if you can.
