I love the way your blue eyes sparkle when you're happy, but they darken when you get annoyed. I love that instead of tanning you get freckles, by the end of summer your whole face is covered in them. I love how your dirty blond hair sweeps past your eye when it's not jelled up. Much like it was when we were 14, before you got that 'life changing' hair cut, as you call it. I love how I can get lost in your eye, your perfect sky blue eyes. I love your dimples,  they get cuter and cuter every time you smile. Even your eyebrows are perfect, although you're blond your eyebrows are a perfect shade of brown, they're in better shape than mine. I love how your eyelashes are longer and thicker than mine, or any girl's for that matter. I love your cute, button nose and your pink, full lips, perfectly kissable. I love everything about your perfect freckled face.

"They're here!" My mum yelled at me from downstairs. To say I was excited was an understatement, I was overwhelmingly ecstatic. I couldn't sleep last night, I was up counting down the hours until I saw him. Until I finally saw Joe.

It has been about 6 or 7 months since I last saw him, yes you are probably wondering: How can she be in love with a boy she hardly ever sees? I don't get it either. We see each other every Christmas and for about a week during the summer holidays. But now, now I will be seeing him everyday.

I rushed down the stairs at an extreme pace, god, if I ever ran this fast in PE, I would probably be on the athletics team.

I looked out the living room window, only to see Joe's dad's car pulling up into the driveway. His dad drove a dark grey Audi, it was Joe's favourite kind of car. His little sister was happily swinging her legs in the back of the car. She has the fairest hair you'll ever see. She looked a lot like her brother, they both had the same smile and freckles covered their entire face. Elsa was wearing a blue top with black leggings, she wasn't the girly type, she didn't mind getting dirty. She probably got that from her older brother.

Joe didn't like to admit it, but you could tell he cared a lot about his younger sister, yes he tormented her endlessly; but at the end of the day you can see how much he loves her by the way he looks at her when he's tucking her into bed.

Watching carefully from the window, I saw Joe climb out of the car, taking in his surroundings. His smile widened, just a fraction. His messy blond hair swooped past his eye, it was obvious he hadn't done anything to it today. He was wearing grey shorts, I repeat, grey shorts. The type of shorts that made girls go crazy whenever they saw a slightly attractive male wearing them. He paired the shorts with a black top with a small, white Nike tick on the left side of his chest. He wore black trainers on his feet, with a black Nike tick covering both sides. God, was this boy sponsored by Nike or something?

He grabbed his bags from the car boot and began to walk towards the front door. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat. I couldn't tell if I was nervous or excited, I was finally seeing Joe. The door bell rang and I dashed to the door. Before my mum could even take her oven gloves off, I was at the door. My mother was always baking. I took a deep breath and put on my biggest smile before opening the door.

Joe had his head turned away from the front door, but his dad and Elsa both smiled as I opened the door.

"MAY!" The little girl screeched and suffocated me with a hug.

"Elsa, I've missed you! How are you?"

"I'm soooo good! I'm so happy I get to see you every day! I'll finally have a sister!" I chuckled.

"Is Joe not good enough for you?" with the mention of his name, Joe promptly turned his head. God he's gorgeous.

"I'll have you know I'm the perfect brother," Joe said with a smirk.

We all headed to the kitchen where my mum and Joe's dad were talking. I felt a bit rude that I didn't say hello to Joe's dad, John, when he arrived but I'm sure he'd get over it, he's a nice man.

"Right kids, I think we better get up to their spare room and get unpacked, but first say thank you to Victoria for letting us stay in her home until we find one of our own," John said, turning to face his children.

"Thanks," both Joe and Elsa said simultaneously, then they rushed upstairs.

Last night after my small mental break down, Elise called me back. I told her that I needed a way to convince Joe that I didn't like him in the way I did. We came up with the idea to get me a boyfriend.

Of course, I wouldn't actually be dating him, that would be unfair for the boy, as I was head over heals in love with someone else. But we would just have to convince everyone that we were actually a couple, most importantly Joe. We batted a few names around before we  settled on Daniel.

Daniel is a boy I met in my Year 12 English lit class, we aren't exactly the closest of friends. We never really see each other outside of school, only at the odd party, but we're close enough that I can ask him for favours. And this is a big favour to ask.

I have to admit, I was immediately taken back by his looks the first time I saw him. His dark brown hair was perfectly styled, yet it looked effortless, and his forest green eyes instantly had me hooked. Then I remember Joe. To be fair they are both equally gorgeous, but for some reason Joe always has the edge, no matter who I compare him to.

It's almost unbelievable how much effort I'm putting into making sure that Joe never discovers  how I feel for him. God, the things we do for unrequited love...
