This was the 10th dress Sadie had tried on and once again she was disappointed. The length was either to short or the dress fit a little too tight for her liking. Her curves weren't helping the dress hunt go any smoother either and she thought once again about starting a diet. Then again she wouldn't be able to get the results she would have liked. Especially since the event was tomorrow. Exhausted she hung the dresses back up on the hangers and with one last look at her body she left the changing room. she would have to borrow a dress from her roommate Fiona.
Sadie was not pleased with going to the party her boss was throwing. Of course she didn't have to go but she was pressured to stand out. She had gotten an internship at Madison and Berk all thanks to Fiona's father and it was an amazing opportunity seeing that it was at a top law firm but she felt the pressure constantly. Sadie was surrounded with more men than women which was the most surprising to her about working at a law firm. She expected there to be more women since this was the twenty first century, however it wasn't the case here at Madison and Berk. She was less surprised about the work load. She expected it and welcomed it seeing that she didn't have much else going on in her life.
She welcomed the work but she dreaded the appearances she had to keep up with. She knew she had to make her self known at the firm but it was hard for her since she was always used to being quiet and reserved. She had gotten used to the flow of things since her first day as a brand new associate. She had learned that every day had its own demands and she needed to be alert and attentive to be successful here.
It had been four months since Sadie started working here and she'd really only made one close friend, her bosses secretary Piper. Piper was the typical blonde bombshell you see in movies but unlike them she was down to earth and kind.
When Sadie first got off the elevator at the top floor, filled with nerves and so much anxiety she could have thrown up, she didn't expect Piper to be so welcoming of her. She expected the beautiful blue eyed blonde to look her up and down with judgment but instead she smiled and told her that Mr. Madison my future boss was waiting.
Piper was not at all what she was expecting her to be like so her previous assumption on who her boss was and what he must have looked like went straight out the door. Before Sadie opened the door she had to take a deep breathe, she was prone to anxiety and every new endeavor she didn't know inside and out, terrified her. Piper must have sensed her nerves because she reassured her that she would be fine and he was sure to hire her.
Without wasting anymore time, Sadie opened the door and walked in. Mr. Madison was talking on the phone whilst looking out the large window that she was quickly distracted by. The view the window presented was beautiful and Sadie was stunned. She loved rain and today was anticipating some rainy weather. The window showed off the gray setting with big dark clouds and she couldn't help but forget where exactly she was at the moment. That was until she heard Mr. Madison clear his throat. She averted her attention to Mr. Madison who was now facing her. She was stunned once again. The man standing in front of her was beautiful. She couldn't help
but stare.
