Alex was running through countless corridors in the great Marble Palace of Moirav. All the guards were dead and he was being chased by Warriors made of black steel known only as the blades. A small troop of just one hundred had killed over ten thousand guards. No sword or arrow seemed to affect them and magic bounced off them harmlessly.
I must get to the forest. At least there I might be able to find the brothers. If only I had a stone of fate then I could get to them easier.
Unfortunately, these stones were lost centuries ago and sometimes rumours appeared about people finding them. When these rumours appeared the Brothers seemed to disappear from the palace for a few days.
He turned a corner he was sure lead to the kitchen where he could escape the blades, only to find he had reached a corridor with a dead end. There was no windows or doors that he could see.
He began to turn back but saw the blades shadows at the end of the corridor he had just came through and quickly went to the end of the corridor. At least he could stop them surrounding him if he had to fight.
Unseen before, he saw an open door. It almost felt like it was drawing him in. He entered through the door and closed it behind him, shutting out all sound from the corridor.
The only sound he could hear now was a strange humming. He looked around the room he was in and saw it was a large circular chamber. It had 3 Alcoves in it, one of which he was standing in. He stepped out of the alcove and had a proper look around.
Surprised, he saw there was actually 6 alcoves, but they were grouped in pairs and each pair had a strange rune above it. In the center of the room was a hole which led into a staircase going further down.
Intrigued, Alex walked to the staircase, noticing that the humming sound seemed to get louder as he got closer. Something about all of this seemed familiar to him. Almost as if he had read about it. He descended the stairs and at the bottom he found himself in a long stone corridor. All he could see at the end was a little glow. He headed towards it.
It took him a whole 30 minutes to walk the length of the corridor, but he finally found himself in front of a large wooden door. Oak apparently. On the door was silver shimmering text saying the following:
Enter ye, if you dare
And see what fate awaits you.
But the password first, if you please,
Known to one and all at heart,
Yet hidden untill the need is true.
For fate awaits you, and help she may,
Ask her if you are in need of the moirae.
Wow, he thought to himself. I think this is the Vault of the Moirae.
Realising this, and remembering legends told when he was young, and a song came to his head. He sang it softly and realised that he knew the password.
'The password is Morialis Destinus' he said aloud and the door opened.
Inside, it was just a small cupboard. The only thing in the room was a table where a pure white stone sat. Instantly he knew it was one of the legendary stones of fate. He went towards it and reached out his hand and just as he was about to touch it....
Alex woke at the sound of his Alarm. 7:30AM. He sighed and got out of bed. As always, he felt disappointed at not finding out what happens when he reaches the stone. He was so close this time.
The same dream had been taunting him for as long as he could remember. If only he knew what the stupid dreams meant then maybe they would go away.
He made his way to the bathroom, done his daily business then headed down the stairs for breakfast then headed for school.
