Alexis nodded and with a sigh dropped her gaze and her anger seemed to reluctantly fade away.
"I know Drew. I wish I could make it all just go away, but we can't. All we can do is go with it and live it."
She pushed passed him and into the hallway. she then turned back to face him.
"What is on the third and fourth floors?" she asked.
Well the third floor has lots of medical equipment. Old and rusted from like turn of the century. There are lots of old sheets, Medical charts and an x-ray light board. There is many diagrams that are half hanging on the walls, they are weather worn, but have medical instructions written on them. It's crazy. The forth floor is lined with what looks like torture chambers, Rooms with locks. One room has equipment that looks like it is used for shock therapy. All the rooms are padded. I even found an old straight jacket. "
Alexis looked at him with curiosity. "What kind of hospital is this? Sounds like a prison for people that are mentally unstable."
"I think your right." he said softly. Actually showing reaction that this place really did creep him out.
"Come on, lets get out of here. I'm sure that Ethan, Brad and Faith are halfway home by now."
Drew agreed and stepped up beside her. Glancing down at her his voice remained softened as he cleared his throat and began to speak.
"I owe you an apology. I've been a royal Jerk to you, I have no explanation because there is no excuse for it. You have done nothing but love me and have been by my side. I'm so sorry Alexis."
She swallowed hard. Her mind was racing. She didn't know what to say at first.
"Your the only man I have ever loved. Whom I have ever cared about. We have been through so much. I never thought that you would be the way you have been towards me. I do except your apology Drew, But I am not sure if I can ever trust you again."
He leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. She only glanced up at him and bit her lower lip. He then reached down and took her hand into his own. She didn't pull away. They began to walk towards the end of the hall of the second floor and decided to decend the staircase together.
After reaching the first floor a rush of fresh air greeted them from the chill that entered the building from the broken windows. They walked back the many rooms and the nurses station, but getting closer to the end of the hall lexi stopped suddenly. Drew looked her over as he stopped as well still gripping her hand tightly in his own.
"What's wrong Lexi?" he asked.
"Do you see that woman standing there near the entrace? She is standing at the desk down there by the phone."
Drew squinted as he tried to make out what was at the end of the hall. Finally he gave a nod. "
Yeah I see her."
Lexi swallowed and tried not to cry out. "Drew, Is that my mom?" she asked as she gazed at him with hope and desperation in her eyes.
Before Drew could reply The woman started awalking towards them. Her pace quickened as she realized that it was in fact her daughter.
"Alexis" she cried.
"Momma." Alexis whimpered as she pulled away from Drew and ran to her mother throwing her arms around her in a hug.
"How did you find me?" Alexis sobbed as tears ran down her cheeks as he mother held her in her embrace.
Her mother pulled away and looked her over, seeming to ignore her question.
