My Brother Joey

After School

The bell rung and I darted outta that classroom. Usually I'm supposed to wait for Daylin or Keshawn to walk home with but they were no where to be found after school, so I walked home alone. I've only walked home alone once and that was because dad said to walk home since he would be watching me from a block away. 

It was one day when I had walked home alone, some crazy boy followed me home and then beat me up because I looked at him funny at school. Dad got mad at me because I didn't fight back and technically I couldn't because he had me pinned down and all and he was socking me in my face. I was defenseless and helpless. When I came home with that broken nose, and bloody mouth, Joey knew that hell was about to break loose because daddy's little boy got beat up and none of his brothers were around to prevent it from happening. So that's really why I'm not allowed to walk home alone. 

I took the long route because I thought someone was following me. This guy named Chris walked the same path with me and then I immediately pulled out my phone and called Joey. 

'Yeah Reggie what's up?'

'Can you come pick me up? I don't know where Keshawn and Daylin are and Im scared to walk home alone by myself!'

'Reggie really? Call Keshawn or Daylin! They're probably still at school looking for you.'

'Joeyyyyyy I took the long route to avoid that crazy kids house.'

'I just got home!'

'Did you even call Daylin or Keshawn to find out where they were? No okay then call them.'*Hangs up*

I put my phone in my pocket and did a quick turnaround to see where Chris was. He apparently was gone and I didn't know where he disappeared to. I called Keshawn...

'Yea wassup? Bro where the fuck are you!!!'

'Walking home, where are y'all!'

'Stupid fuck we at the freaking school looking for you! That's yo ass when we get home!!!'

'Y'all were no where to be found after school and I thought y'all had left?'

'If we left then you would've went with us. See you are trying to get us in trouble. BET!'

Keshawn hung up on me and my heart dropped. I redialed Joey's number...

'What Reggie?'

'You were right they were at the school looking for me or Keshawn was looking for me prolly not Daylin.'

'And...'

'Can you pick me up? PLLEEEAAASSSEEE!'

'Yea Im On my way but next time I ask yo little stupid ass to do sum you better do it!' 

Joey hung up on me and he was to my location in 3 mins. I hopped in the car and Joey looked irritated. He said "Nah get in the back!"

"Why what'd I do?"

"Reggie! Don't question me. Just do as I said!"

"Fine!" I crawled over the arm rest accidentally kicking Joey in the head. Joey flipped on me and started yelling. He said "BRO WHAT THE FUCK. STOP ACTING LIKE A FUCKING CHURLISH BASTARD LIKE DAD AINT RAISE YOU WITH SOME SENSE! IM TIRED OF YO FUCKING NONSENSE NEXT TIME IMMA JUST HAVE DAYLIN BEAT YO ASS!" I quivered at him yelling, then looked out the window pouting. I was about to start crying but I held it in. I heard Joey dial keshawn's number and learned that they were just a block away. Joey drove up the street to their location and said "Y'all cool walking or you wanna ride back?" Keyshawn replied "Yea I wanna ride! Come on Daylin!" Daylin said "I swear if that punk ass nigga is in the car Imma beat his ass cuz he got me fucked up!" Daylin went to open the door on my side and I locked it. Keshawn went to the front seat and Daylin walked around to the other side. I started crying and said "Nooo....Keshawn you sit back here! Daylin tryna punch me!" Joey turned around and said "Shut the fuck up bro! You already irritating enough, stop adding to the ignorance." Joey unlocked the door and Daylin got in. Daylin said "Was it this pussy ass nigga right here who locked the door on me?" Joey said "Daylin chill!"

"Whatchu mean chill? After all we just went through, to find his pussy punk ass, you gone tell me to chill? What kind of shit? Nah we swinging when we get inside so be ready Reg...tired of yo bs and we gotta cover for it! Should've let yo ass get beat up again so you can learn yo lesson." I wiped my face and pulled my shirt over it. As Joey pulled into the driveway, I could feel my heartbeat speed up. I was scared like a mutha fucker. Daylin got out the car and went to stand at the door. After Keshawn got out, Joey yelled "Reggie....get out!" I didn't move and Joey added "So you act like you can't hear me? Daylin go get Reggie....."

"Okay okay! I'm getting out!"

"Fucking pussy! Take yo ass upstairs to yo room when you get inside!"

"Joey why!? I didn't freaking do anything!!!" I pulled out my phone and called dad...

'Hold on one second Reggie...' Daylin said "Awe shit this nigga snitching on us...bet!" Daylin lunged for my phone and I dropped it. He picked it up and hung up. That was it. I started crying and I stormed off away from home up the street. I couldn't go inside because Daylin was at the front door and Joey and Keshawn both were already inside. Daylin yelled "Yea go run off somewhere fucking pussy! Hope you learn yo fucking lesson for putting us through all this shit! You'll learn that in the future we do this shit because we love you but you don't care so why should we!"

"FUCK YOU DAYLIN!!!"

"Yea fuck me but when I start running after you don't go crying wolf!" I quick walked up to the stop sign and before I could cross the street, I heard Joey yell "REEGGIIEE!" I didn't even hesitate to turn around. I saw him running to me and I was mentally incapacitated to do anything. Suddenly, I fell back and landed in the grass. 

Someone shaking me saying "Reggie...wake up!" I slowly open my eye and see it was Joey and as I figure out where I am, I realize I'm in his room. He says "I'll be back!" I add "Wait where's my phone?"

"I don't know. I think Daylin cracked it when he knocked it outta your hand!" I started crying again, this time crying "I want my daddy!" 

"What's wrong with Reggie?" Dad yells.
