On Friday, May 19, 2017, my girlfriend texted me.
She said that she was breaking up with me.
Naturally, I was devastated.
I spent the weekend crying over rom-coms and eating chocolate ice cream.
She has been really depressed lately and she won't talk to me. It upsets me that she wasn't able to talk to me about what was bothering her.
When I got to school on Monday, for the first time in weeks, I saw her smile.
That made me happy.
To know that she is finally getting better and that she has been able to find happiness again outweighs the hurt that came from the breakup.
Please know that I am okay and that I enjoy talking to all of you.
