The Room of Happiness turned out to be just that. Not being that Alice had been unhappy before she entered the room, but the moment her foot entered the room, it appeared that her foot seemed livelier, and so on until her whole person was in the room and she felt marvelous. The room was full of people of the court, all dressed in blinding white, but none so brilliant as the Queen herself, sitting on a table, clapping, the smile of a mirror on her face as she enjoyed her afternoon of delight.
"Your Majesty!"
"Your Majesty!"
"We have someone for you!"
"Says she needs to see you right quick!"
In her normal flourish, the White Queen turned from the enjoyment and settled her unearthly eyes on Alice. Eyes widening in delight, the Queen stood and lifted her hands. The room immediately silenced.
"Friends," she said clearly, in her bell voice. "Alice has returned again."
The entire room turned completely where they sat, as if the room had turned too.
A moment of silence.
"Alice the Avenger!" They cried.
The room stood and applauded her. Alice felt her face heat and she wasn't positive why.
Queen Mirana glided forward, her arms open in welcome, her fingers held gracefully. "Welcome, Alice, welcome. We have wondered when you would return and none are so happy as us to have welcomed you back." She held her hand out for Alice. "Is there any reason we should celebrate your wonderful return?"
Alice shook her head. "No, your Majesty. Only to visit."
"A fine reason indeed." The Queen agreed. "Has everyone welcomed you, my dear? I'm know everyone has missed you and wouldn't want to miss your first evening back."
"No. I saw McTwisp and then the Tweedle Brothers, but I have yet to see anyone else."
"Well, we shall change that. Lenoir!" She called over her shoulder. "Tell the cook that we need a feast prepared tonight in welcome of our Alice." A young girl stood, curtseyed to Mirana then Alice and gracefully floated out of the room. "And we shall find you some clothes fit for a welcome back party. If you will follow me."
