Chapter 6

"Vic where are we going?"

We have been driving for twenty minutes now.

"I have no clue."

He was just staring focusing on the road.

"Fuck school."

He muttered under his breathe, I was confused. I turned away and continued to just stare out the window.

About a couple of minutes later we stopped in front of a gas station.

"Get snacks."

Vic handed me twenty bucks and I just explored the gas station grabbing chips, pops, and just some candy. I walked up to the counter and payed for the things, I had only ten dollars left. I walked over to Vic who was just sitting in the car and texting someone. I opened the door and handed him the money and showed him what I got.

"Skittles and monster?, sounds like something a scene kid would buy."

I laughed and he did to. I liked this, just being to have someone to talk to in general, even though we don't speak that much to each other, it's good to know someone's there.

"Were here."

I fell out of my gaze and looked at Vic and then to the scenery in front of me.

He put the car in park, and we kind of just sat there for a moment.

"Why are we here again?, my moms gonna kill me for skipping."

He just smiled and looked at me, which caused me to feel those butterfly's I felt earlier. Was I falling for someone I barely know?, so many feelings running in my head.

"Because I want to know you better Kellin."

I smiled and looked at my feet,

"Okay then Vic, then what would you like to know?"

I grabbed some skittles and began to eat them, he grabbed a bag of chips and ate them to.

"What's your favorite color?"

I laughed,

"Lame, but yellow I guess, you?"

"Same, and hey it's not lame!"

We both began to laugh at each other and continued asking questions like.

"What's your favorite food?"

"What's your favorite movie?"

Just stuff like that, we slowly began to run out of questions and food.

"Okay, okay."

Vic said smiling at me.

"Serious question."

I just nodded,

"Who was that guy earlier?, at school?"

I let out a sigh and my mood went from extremely happy to just sad and mad.

"Should I have not asked?"

I sighed again.

"It's fine Vic, but he was my ex, cheated, did some stuff.. I just don't want to talk about it."

I turned my head and look at the sun that was now setting. Vic instantly changed the subject.

"It's so pretty."

I smiled.

"Yeah it is."

Vic just kept smiling and so did I, I enjoyed the silence it wasn't that awkward silence, It was that just comfort.

"Ask me something Kellin."

I looked at Vic.

"Something personal, I don't care, ask away."

Vic started up the car again.

"But, V-"

Vic sounded mad, but kind at the same time.

"Just, I feel bad?"

I nodded, but what do I ask?, and that's when it clicked in my head.

"Why did you tell me so suddenly last night that you where gay?"

Vic stopped the car, but started it again?, what's his problem.

"It's because people are so strange when they know I'm gay, that's kind of why I left my old town."

Was he seriously put down so bad that he had to leave his own town?, people are cruel. I patted his back.

"I promise I will protect you."

He smiled, he smiled so big, which caused me to just smile to.

"Thank you Kellin."

And the rest of the way home was silent, thank god it was Thursday that meant only one more day of hell then I can hang out with Vic for the weekend. I laid my head against the window and slowly fell asleep to Vic humming a song.
