For as long as I can remember, I've been living on this farm. I grew up milking cows and husking corn. I've had the same chores since I was five, getting better as I grew. I'm more skilled, faster, and I get less dusty than I used to. Not that the dusty part matters much, since I shower every night. But anyway.
Now that I'm sixteen, I have more privileges. One of them is being able to go to town on my own. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but when you've lived out in the middle of nowhere all your life, going somewhere with actual people is exciting. Of course, I've been to the farmer's market in town a few times with my parents before, but it's not the same. I can't exactly do much, since they just come to sell crops and get back to the farm. If I go on my own, I can actually do what I want to do. Of course, I will have to sell some crops, but after noon I have two hours to do whatever I want.
When I turned fifteen, I got a phone. I think I've used it twice, maybe less. I'm hoping to actually put it to some use soon, maybe meet a friend who I can text. The only person I text is my cousin, which is literally never. I'm not much of a technology person, I guess. I can't wait to actually text people who want to text with me! But I'm a bit nervous. I probably won't fit in, and maybe people won't like me because of that. I didn't know, but what happened when I went to town alone for the first time was nothing like I was expecting.

I hope you enjoy this little preview of my story! I know it's short ( it takes about 38 seconds to read, in fact), and it's a little redundant and kind of like throwing a bunch of stuff at you guys really fast, but I'm trying to get the records straight. Don't worry, it'll get better and a bit smoother as I get a bit farther into it!
