He stared in shock at the cyclone haired girl. People started crowding around, curious of who would catch the attention of the great boy wonder cop.
Gaito or Gaito lookalike stared at him and repeated her question. "I said, who are you? How do you know my name?"
Tasuku realised that he was still staring at her with his jaw hanging open and quickly closed it in embarrassment.
"Oh? Tasuku senpai knows of Gaito already? No fair ~" Shinetsu pouts cutely causing Gaito to smack the pink haired girl on the head.
"Oui! That hurt!" Shinetsu smacks her in return and stuck her tongue out when Gaito glared at her.
Despite his shock, Tasuku couldn't help but chuckle at Shinetsu's childishness. Shinetsu was a good friend, trying to cheer him up with jokes and was the only one who could distract him from his grief.
"I must have mistaken you with someone else, sorry." Tasuku smiled sadly. He knew it could not be a coincidence. The same name shared with a doppelganger?
That was too far fetched. But, if he wanted her to trust him so he could investigate this strange situation, he had to dismiss it for now so as to not scare her away.
"My name is Tasuku Ryuenji, nice to meet you."
"Gaito Kurouzu."
Her answer was short and curt but with no disrespect intended in her tone
"I hope to see you around." He smiled before turning back to the school. He called over his shoulder "Shinetsu, hurry up or we'll be late."
"Not fair! Wait for me! Bye Gaito, see ya."
Gaito stared at their retreating figures one last time before leaving
