Warriors: Heronflight's Journey

Prologue

"That one is my choice." Crowstar, the former Cavernclan leader announced proudly. The five other heavenly leaders stared at him unsurely. As they looked down at the small, light brown tom they were shown.

"Crowstar are you sure? If we send him a dream he may regard it...the tom doesn't even believe in Starclan.." Heatherstar, the former Snowclan leader, murmured. Stonestar and Moonstar nodded in agreement. The big black CavernClan tom hissed, fluffing his pelt, "He is my choice!!"

Moonstar stepped to the shiny bright puddle that sat between the six cats. The tall, lean she-cat had a gray and white pelt.

"Well it will do us no good to fight." She nodded to the pool of water and the pool shimmered. Then it showed a vision of a fluffy white and black splotched she cat. She was very small for her age. "She is the second." Moonstar proudly purred, eyes shining. Crowstar nodded in silence and Heatherstar took a step forward, "My choice is..." She waved her tail over the pool and a older, senior warrior, showed. Crowstar looked uncomfortable as he looked at the vision of the pretty tortoiseshell she-cat. Heatherstar met his gaze, "What's the face for?!" She challenged, "She's a fine warrior!"

Crowstar sighed, "Indeed, she is." He muttered and looked to Thornstar, former leader of EarthClan. he met their challenging gazes and sighed, encouraging them to look into the water, "He's very young but I think he will handle it well.." The leader bowed at the dusty reddish tom who had black paws. There was a surpressed purr from Mallowstar, "Thornstar, bold choice." He respectfully stood up and took his turn, showing the others a vision of a light brown she-cat with darker molted spots and blue eyes as bright as the pool itself. "I think i'd like to take a chance and give this dear apprentice the chance she has been waiting for." Mallowstar, Moonstar, Heatherstar, Thornstar and Crowstar all looked at the final leader. 

"Stonestar? Who have you chosen?" Thornstar asked. Stonestar reached down, tapping his nose to the water, "You want to talk bold?" He teased, showing them one of his finest apprentices, "This one." He smiled down at a smokey gray tom with white paws, clack ear tips and a black tail tip.

A gasp murmured from all the cats, "No! this can't happen!! Stonestar you will be sending this cat to his death!" Moon star cried.

"You can't send a blind apprentice out?!" Thornstar was more snappy.

Stonestar bristled, "He is my choice and he is strong! He will go!" He roared. The others growled but nodded. 

"Now everyone send them the dream tonight. Its time for the six to become one! They will save the clans!" Stonestar howled.
