Okay, so this is my first time writing on Wattpad, just let me know if you like it or if it totally sucks.... :)
"Here comes another one" I whispered under my breath to Gabby
"It seems like there is at least one more a day" she replied
"It's so sad, ya know?"
"For sure, I don't think I could ever do that to myself"
As we walked down the halls of our newly built highschool we scold the girls who have had "the procedure"...
My best friend Gabby Ella Wilson and I are one hundred percent against "the procedure". I don't know why but lately it has become a lot more popular. One day Crystal Finch was wearing her scars from soccer and lacrosse just like any other day and the next day they were all gone. Getting "the procedure" used to be a big deal but now its not. Girls will just go get it after school as if they were going to get their hair or nails done. Personally I think girls do this because they are not happy with the way their body looks, which is the truth, but no one will admit it. Basically what happens is they go to a plastic surgeon and get and IV that has this "stuff" (no one is really sure what) that heals and gets rid of all scars, blemishes, birth marks... etc. When the procedure is done your skin is just like everybody elses that has done it. The girls think they are flawless so they are perfect. What guy would'nt want a perfect girl?
Scince i am not really friends with anybody that has done this im not sure if they are happy with their new skin or they regret it. At least at school all they girls look like they enjoy their new skin, but they have to. They have to act like they are happy. They have to act like their confident. Their have to act like their comfertable in "someone else's skin".
Gabby and I see right past all their fake smiles and treated skin. We see how miserable some of them are, but we have always wondered what they are thinking when they decide to do it. Im sure that most of them have seen the other girls who have done it before them and realized what they felt. Why would you change your body to "feel better' even though you knew in the end that you were going to feel uncomfertable? Maybe it's something i will never figure out.
"Hey Champ" A fimiliar voice said from behind me. I broke my daze and looked up. I realized that Gabby has left my side and is waiting in line to get lunch.
"Hey Blane, and by the way my name is not Champ, its Hannah"
"I know, I know, i just like to mess with you, so what were you thinking about so hard that you had to stop in the middle of the lunch room and stare off at Julie Syke's table for five minutes for?"
"Oh, did i really do that? I didn't mean it, i was just thinking about that anatomy dissection we have next hour and realized i probably shouldnt eat to much at lunch".
I knew, and i think Blane knew just as well as i did that i wasnt thinking about the dissection. He knew that i was lying but he couldnt figure out the truth.
Julie Syke's and her whole possy are all "perfected". Not only is their skin flawless they all have long, straight blonde hair. When you see them walk down the hall together you would definantly think they were related. All of 5 of them were the same, same clothes, grades, look and even the same initails. The only difference that is apparent is only Julie has a boyfriend. Kevin Johnson was your typical high school "too cool for you" kinda jock. Julie and Kevin were great together, if you saw one usually you saw the other close by. Scince the very beggining of their realtionship Kevin has not liked being around Julie's group of girls. When i see him he always tries not to look at them or interact at all. Im not sure if this is a request from Julie but Gabby thinks he has a problem with cheating.
I always try to see the good in people but when Gabby said he might have a problem staying faithful I questioned him. Then all the girls started to get plastic surgery and i lost all hope in people. The only two people i am close with are Gabby and Blane. Im not even close with my parents. I can hear my mom now "Hannah, i am very disappointed in you, i can't believe you wouldnt want to better yourself, i cant believe you wont do this, do it for me hannah. It will teach you life skills Hannah, think about all the good things that could come out of this". She was trying to convince me to get drugs from people at school for her with the "convincing" argument that it will teach me how to get things that are out of reach.
"So" Gabby said coming back with her tray of food "where are we going to sit today"?
The school cafeteria is getting remodeled so our usual spot is bloked off.
"Well do you want to sit outside or in?" Blane asked her narrowing down the choices
"Outside"
We went outside and sat under a big oak tree. It was really sunny that day for it only being April, usually there is still a good chance of snow.
As Gabby ate her lunch and Blane dozed off for a few minutes i carefully studied the student body that was enjoying the sun. I was looking through the clumps of people when one set of eyes caught my attention. They were staring right back at me.
