Chapter 1 – You’re Our Prophet

I sighed as I looked around at the extraordinary things around me, it happened again.

I sat at the base of a spotted mushroom, the size of a skyscraper. The bunny was around here somewhere I felt his beady little red eyes watching me. The blue sky had wispy clouds in off shapes, the animal shaped hedges reached to the sky growing ever taller. Even the rocking horse and dragon flies buzzed around my head in a tiny medieval battle.

Panic attacks take me here, it’s like a warp, at the worst moments possible I feel the effects, and it’s like time has stopped and it warps me here. Once something in my mind triggers, or I fall asleep in Wonderland I and warped back to that exact time back in reality, right before I left.

I was like a time traveler, only to Wonderland.

I plopped down in the lush, overgrown grass and pulled at it like a child. My black and white silk dress splayed out around me in a black pool, my black and white stockings folded under me.

Why did this happen to me, now that’s the question that would never be answered.

I felt the rabbit approach. A small white rabbit, just a little bigger than a normal rabbit, other than he had a tiny red waistcoat with a watch, and that he walked on his back feet.

“Alice, you’re back!” He smiled, his little nose twitching.

“Sadly…” I mutter looking up at him.

He checked his watch, “Wonderland hasn’t gotten better sense your last visit, the Red Queen is still ruling, the leaders of the kingdoms are still nowhere to be seen.”

I curse, Peter was the Red Queen’s forced assistant. He caught me up on all the news happening in Wonderland while I was gone. While no time passed in the real world, time in Wonderland still went on.

Wonderland had four kingdoms. The Hatter Mansion, The White Castle, The Kingdom of Hearts, and the Amusement park.  Ever sense the insane-with-power Red Queen began declaring war, and damaged much of Wonderland in her insane rage for power. The leaders of the White Castle, Amusement park, and the two in the Hatter Mansion had disappeared into hiding and uncharted territory. Not to mention the Queen of Hearts was also after me every time I came back.

Peter Rabbit was a forced slave of hers, but he had always been my best friend, ever sense I was a little girl lost in Wonderland. He’d been with me through everything, a mentor of mine, and he always looked out for me.

I sighed and covered my face with my dainty hands and heard a wind-chime like noise beside me and felt a hand on my shoulder. I look up and see Peter in his human form, smiling gently down at me. He had on khaki pants and a long red plaid jacket like he had before, the chain of his watch still visible. Peter’s hair was long and white, like a wavy shag. His long white bunny ears still twitched at the top of his head, and small reading glasses hung on the bridge of his nose.

Changing from one form to another was common between the halflings in Wonderland. The half animal, have people race. There were many regulars or faceless servants who were considered ‘unimportant’.

I lay my head in his chest and sighed, “Peter, Wonderland is a mess.”

“And you’re the only one who can save it.”

I groan at his words. The Wonderlandians had this weird thing where they had a Prophecy. The Prophecy was that I, Alice Black, would save Wonderland from a power’s terror with another man, but who was this man? If he’d show up any time, that would be fantastic.

But Peter’s tone had gotten to me and his words repeated in my head. And you’re the only one who can save it…
