The poison filled air was crisp rhrough the gas mask as I stumbled through a disheveled alleyway. I had been running from those....those things for hours. I wheezed through the mask as I held onto a wall, feeling like I was about to throw up.
My stomach churned and tears welled in my eyes, but I kept moving, afraid they would find me. My arms felt weak and my knees shook under me as I struggled to stand. Wven with the mask iver my mouth, I still coughed heavily. Seeing blood spew from so much running, but I couldn't stop. I had to keep going. Screw anatomy, I'm not giving up. I pushed off of the wall and slowly started running again, makimg sure to tread lightly so rhey wouldn't hear me.
Please....for the love of god let this be a nightmare.
