chapter 1
hi i'm lily spencer, i'm 19 years old and still living with my parents. i work as cashier in a cafe. i have no social life but i have friends. i work 8 am to 5 pm and go straight home. i'm at work early because i don't want to be late. i was at the counter doing my inventory for the day when the bell rang. a man walking at the counter and stand there looking at me and waiting for me to look at him and when i do he smile and ask if he can order now. i was speechless because i know him. i don't know how long i've been staring at him. "do you like what you see?" he said while clearing his throat. "ahm, good morning sir what's your order? i said nerviously while bitting my lip. "i would like to order two black coffee and two slices of blueberry cheese cake." he said. "that will be $10.50 is there anything else you want to order sir" i said not looking at him.when he didn't reply i look up and he's staring at me. " is there something in my face sir?" i ask. "no, but you look familiar to me. have we met before?" i shake my head no. he nod then paid for his order and went to the table near the window to sitdown, while i prepare his order i glance at him only to see him staring at me again. when i finish preparing his order and went to the table to put his order. "here's your order sir" i said but before i get far he said "thank you". i just smile at him and in return he smiled back at me. i walk back to cashier counter the bell rang again. students and other people were entering the cafe. by now my boss is in his office and some of my co worker is inside the staff room getting ready. after a few minutes my friend liza and rene is now helping with the orders. i glance at the man only to find him looking at me while sipping his coffee. i said to myself just smile so thats what i did only to be shock he smiled wide back at me showing his white perfect teeth.
