Chapter 2 :Retrospection

It was a really dark night of January and I was laying on my bed alone with some music from my phone.If you ever wonder why I'm alone,well it's because I have been always asking for a precious present we call "sister"that would always be here for me when I need her,to make me laugh at stupid jokes,to tell me that she'll get her revenge.I always feel alone even if my parents are there for me whenever I need them but there is something wrong with me it's like every time I think about having a sister I feel as though my heart is a little bit breaking, and feeling empty inside like I have lost someone I really cared about which it's not the exact case . Am I that blind to feel empty when my life is full of joy?

My deep thoughts were cut by the voice of my mother calling me for dinner:
-MATHILDAA DINNER IS READY!!!
-I'M COMING MUM

As I was walking to the kitchen I finally took the decision of telling my parents that being a sister is my need. I arrived at the kitchen door and smelled my favorite recipe "lasagna" and I said to myself:"What a great way to heal an empty stomach".
As always dinner was boring,my parents re-asked me the same daily question and I answered with the same answer:
-"How's school?"
-"It's fine thanks for asking"

So I thought it was a great opportunity to tell them about my wish:

-Mum,dad do you love me?
They looked at me like they were telling me what a silly  question
-Of course we love you more than anything in this world.

So I panicked and started talking randomly:
-Can...umm...I...have a sister?

Nelly and Edward remained shocked by what they heard.

-Sweetie,you still have your friend Lisa for example who was there for you since fifth grade.Having a sister is not a real necessity as long as you have someone who really loves you like Lisa.She did everything to make you happy:she arranged you a party for your birthday on a boat.IT WAS AMAZING!And the time she helped you to forgive the person you really love.Your BFF is more like your sister:she knows a lot of things about you but not all of them.But the difference is that a sister is the person you share the same house with  ,having the same parents and the same family.

-But having a sister is like having a completed heart.Now I have half a heart and without one  it's like I'm dreaming about the impossible. I started to cry with a face full of anger:
"ARE YOU HAPPY NOW??YOU SAID THAT YOU WOULD DO ANYTHING TO MAKE ME HAPPY .IS IT THIS DIFFICULT TO GIVE LIFE TO A PERSON THAT CAN CHANGE MY LIFE?"

Edward and Nelly remained silent as they started to remember what happened 12 years ago:
We can keep hiding our real identity but by the end of the day everything is certainly gonna be revealed.We work for "Essex Company" but this company's name is an alias to protect it.This company does not sell medicines as everyone thought but it sells weapons and drugs.Let us introduce ourselves again:"We are Nelly and Edward the leaders of the mafia here in Essex.We call ourselves 'The killers of life' because we destroy everything pretty and related to our lives like humans,nature,happiness,love: we can't support them.
Nobody knows about our work because we keep it secret from everyone especially the police.Mathilda did not know anything about us because we are very good at acting.Actually we don't like children or having a family because it distract us from working."

The very important point is:
From Nelly's side:
"On the 15 th of May 2003 I started to feel really bad having nausea every day so I told Edward what was happening and he took me to the hospital.
They did all the tests and found out that I was pregnant.I started to scream that I want an abortion and I can't take care of the baby but the doctor said that If I did the abortion my health would be affected so we thought Edward and I that we will have the baby but when the baby will reach 4 years old we will kill him.So we waited 9 months.I couldn'tWalk ,I couldn't do anything and it was annoying.We always used protection why did this thing happen ? Am I punished of being heartless by giving love to a small creature?NOO WAYY!!!
And on the 15 th of January, my water broke and we ran quickly to the hospital.I didn't do any echo because it wasn't important,it wasn't like we will take care of the baby. It was a girl.We didn't want to kill her ourselves because it will be unprofessional so we got her to be adopted by Jane and Jason two workers in "The killers of life" that always wanted a child but in the opposite of us they had feelings it was disgusting.It was a relief that they were supporting the screaming,the crying and we were still selling weapons and drugs and living a normal life.They decided to call her Lola because her life was about sadness and disappointment.When Lola reached 4 years old it was time that Jane and Jason kill her.But what Nelly and Edward didn't know was that Jane and Jason were traitors working for:"The blue skulls" the Irish mafia that were our enemies.
They harassed us of telling the police if we did not adopt the daughter of the Irish Mafia leaders because they were killed last night.We had to adopt her and we called her Mathilda,the name has a definite meaning that will be discovered later.They were bickering in an old house abandoned in the streets of London where the windows were all broken and they had chosen this place because nobody cane there.When suddenly a young man named James a member of the MI6 heard the screams and jerked himself of having finally harvest the necessary information and his target now is to find Mathilda.We have done our best to love her,educate her.But she knows nothing of the wickedness.Sooner or later she will see that the world is cruel and to do evil things is the only way that can help her to survive.
But that night was the night when her sister was killed,that'a why she felt sad and she was never told that she was adopted because if she knew she would
 go in search of her parents that are already dead what will cause us trouble.

Back to present:

Mathilda:
"-MUM ,DADD WHERE YOU SERIOUSLY DREAMING?Are you okay?It was like my question bothered you but it was a simple question:Can I have a sister?Can I for once have someone with me when you're gone?Someone that can illuminate my life?Remove my pain by a simple smile?I know that you both did everything to make me happy but nothing last forever I want something new,something magical.Can you at least tell me what's happening?Why are your faces full of anxiety?"

Nelly and Edward didn't say anything but the fear that Mathilda will discover that they were lying.
So she blackmailed them:
"If you are going to stay quiet all night I will make you chose between me living with Lisa forever or making me the happiest girl on earth by giving birth to a new child.

Nelly answered:
"I'm 42 years old and if I get a child at my age he can be born with malformations or Down Syndome.Do you want your sister to not be able to speak to you?Or play with you?And all the other people will look at her like she's not worth living?Do you wanna feel pity for her or joy?

Mathilda's face turned red and she started to scream
"DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT I CARE WHAT OTHERS SAY OR THINK?THIS WILL BE MY SISTER,MY OTHER HALF,MY OXYGEN.NOW I'M DYING BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANYONE NEAR ME WHEN I HAVE NIGHTMARES OR WHEN I SPEND MY NIGHTS FEELING LIKE THE WORLD IS PUNISHING ME.IF THE WORLD SEES HER AS NOTHING I WILL SEE HER AS MY EVERYTHING.As she  finishes to speak tears began to flow from her eyes darkened by her parents words.
How can they be so mean about a human being?Even if he's not like the others he should always be respected.Nobody is perfect so the world should stop judging others by there looks or actions.
And she ran to her room and said:
"DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW ME MONSTERS!!! I'M GOING TO LIVE WITH LISA TILL YOU START TO RETURN TO THE WONDERFUL PARENTS THAT I KNOW.She closed the kitchen's door with a power that could have broke theEntire house.

Edward asked Nelly:

"What can we do?If we run after her right now she will destroy us and bombard us with bad words and as you know,even though I have never ever wanted a baby,the presence of Mathilda has made the biggest difference in my life.I love her I really do,but I don't think that realising her dreams may be a very good idea because a baby is a real source of distraction and as we both know our job and fortune needs a full time job.
But on the other hand,not doing what she's asking for leads us to be losing her and our next leader.And I think that you're aware of what would have happened next: If she's informed abour her real story we're really gonna get into the trouble of losing all her respect for us "

Nelly said:"I have an idea"
