It was a cold fall night, winter slowly approaching, the wind blowing the trees back and forth.
"It looks like we can't look tonight either." said Braxton
"We have to... Faye has been missing for almost three weeks now, if we don't find her soon... she will have no hope of surviving, and if we don't even try her mother... she's already having a hard time with this as it is, we have to continue looking." Alel said as her bright blue eyes showed deep concern
"I'm sorry Alel, but it just isn't safe, if we looked today... we might never come back aswell, and would that really do any good?" Braxton replied
"But, would it do any good if we didn't try in the first place?! this is really just a 50/50 chance! Anything we do is a risk, in order for anyone to make a difference... we need to take risks... you of all people should know that!" Alel began to shout, tears forming in her eyes
"I... I know you're really close with Faye's mother but... I can't lose you..." Braxton said
"Braxton, please! Can we just look a while longer..." Alel looked at Braxton intently
"Fine... but if the wind gets any worse we're heading back here immediately!" Braxton replied
Alel set off immediately, Braxton grabbed his things as quickly as possible and ran to catch up with her.
Meanwhile, deeper in the forest....
A gentle sound of breathing was heard in the distance, Uesa's wolf ears perked up, she leaped up into a tree to sneak around the forest to find where the sound was coming from, she saw a silhouette of a young girl in the distance, she slowly climbed through different trees to get a better look, yet she made a mistake when she sneezed.
"Wh-Who's there??" The young girl leaped backwards, quickly pulling out her bow and arrow. Uesa carefully slid down the tree "Calm down kid, you're in bandit territory, what do you expect?" Uesa said
"What? I am?" The girl questioned
"Yeah, why are you out here anyways? we're pretty hidden in the forest y'know..." Uesa asked
"I... I ran away..."
"and why exactly?" Uesa asked
"Why should I tell you?!"
"Fine, fine, fair enough, we all have our secrets, but do you even know how to get back?" Uesa asked
"I do, but, I promised my mom I would be able to fend for myself, she's always been so overprotective when in reality I'm more than capable of protecting myself."
"I see, well, do you have a place you've been staying or have you been sleeping on the ground?"
"Are you planning on kidnapping me?!"
"No-it's just, winter is almost here and-"
"What...? it's already been a couple weeks?"
"How long were you planning on staying away from home"
"as long as I could, without getting found by the guards of course."
"Alright then, for now, if you ever need help you can find me, what's your name anyways?" Uesa asked
"Um... well... Faye, you?" Faye responded
"I go by Hidden Wolf" Unrei replied
"What?"
"It's a code name"
"But why?"
"well you see, I'm a part of the bandit group"
