A couple was driving home from their magical evening out. After two years, it was quite obvious how in love with each other the two were. The night was about to get even better. He could feel the weight of the small box in his front pocket as he got closer and closer to their condo. His heart was racing at a hundred miles per hour. His hands were sweating, his breaths were short and quick. But there was no denying the excitement he felt. He was ready to take this gigantic leap into the future, and there was no one else he could imagine doing it with. He had splurged on an expensive meal at an insanely expensive restaurant, one of the best in Los Angeles. He smiled again as he remembered the excitement she had as she spotted one of the Kardashians from across the restaurant. A part of him realized that she might've already figured out the significance of that night, but the continued on with their date. Nothing could ruin this perfect night that he had effortlessly planned for the love of his life.
He was just minutes away from their lovely home when they both hear a deafening scream. It frightened both of them as he came to a screeching stop, lurching both of them forward.
"What the hell was that?" she asked frightened. Her hands were shaking as she looked around frantically. But this was an empty back road the two took to avoid the slow and noisy Los Angeles traffic, they couldn't see anything for miles.
He too was scared, but he knew that they had to find the source of the scream He couldn't live with himself knowing there was something he could've done to help. "I"m going to look around real quick, stay here."He slowly got out of the four-door car, turning around he smiled at her. "Everything is going to be okay", he assured her as he started to walk backwards. Just as he turned the corner of his car, he feels a gust of wind go right past him. He then heard another scream, this one he recognizes. He turns around to see what he hoped would be his future fiancé with blood flowing heavily out of her neck. She was choking on her own blood trying to scream out to him. He quickly reaches for his phone only to find a hand grabbing his. He looks up to see what looks to be a pretty girl in her late teens, maybe early twenties.
She laughs at his frightened face and licks the blood off her fingers. She had fangs hanging out of her mouth and she could feel his eyes as they rested upon it.
"She was tasty, B positive has always been my favorite. I wonder what you are", and before he even had a chance to run she grabbed his arms and pulled him closer to her. She started licking his skin tracing from his jaw all the way to the left side of his neck. Slowly, and painfully, she can tell by his shrieking, she began to suck her second victim of the night dry.
Wiping her mouth she heard a chuckle come from behind her. Deciding to put on a show she turned around and gave a fun little curtsy and gave the newcomer a devious smirk. "Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all night."
He gave her a round of applause, then turned serious"Was that truly necessary?" he asked. "The last thing we need to do is announce our presence here of all places" he warned.
"Thomas, I was hungry. Should've given me a blood bag when I asked for it," she explained leaning against her victim's car.
He shrugged. "There's more for me now."
Wiping the blood off her fingers with the female victim's jacket Nikki sighed,"I don't get it. Why are we here? California is werewolf territory, especially out here in Los Angeles. If Liam knew you were here-".
"Don't worry. We're not going to the City of Angels, that's where most of Liam's men are. We're headed for the town of Northern Valley."
This caught Nikki's attention as she looked up appalled. She hadn't agreed to any plan and the way that Thomas had stated it was almost demanding.
