Sixth Out of Six

Part Three

"Ro you have a visitor!" My mom said as she woke me up. I got dressed in all black, black shirt, black jeans, black sweatshirt. As I reached for the door something compelled me to change into black dress pants, my black polo and my white blazer with white shoes. For accessories I wore my ring with a small amethyst in it, and my watch that was matte black with white hands and face

"Look who cleans up nicely," Edan said to me. 

"I wasn't expecting you here Edan," I said shooting my dad a glance.

"Thought you weren't supposed to tell anyone our secret," he said with a hint of anger entering his voice.

"Well I saw him use lighting, and I had a wiping spell ready and was using a repel on the humans." I said seeing the anger in his eyes dissipate with each word and get replaced with pride.

"The wiping spell is that a blanket spell, and does it wipe your memory of what happened?" Edan said with the most inquisitive eyes. 

My mom smiled and said,"Yes it is a blanket spell and it allows the caster make the user forget anything the caster wants. You shouldn't mess around with it because there is no undo button." 

Edan then looked at me and said,"You were going to do that to me ?!?!?" he asked with fear in his eyes.

"Only if you made me!" I said laughing at the fear in his eyes.

"Can you teach me blanket spells?" he asked my parents. 

"We'll let Ro," they said at the same time, and when I looked at them I saw the eyes of people thinking we should be together.

"Well look at the time." I said peeking at my watch, "We need to go. Bye mom, bye dad. Love you." I pull Edan out of my house. As we walked I realised that I didn't get to ask my parents about Eta and I going into the mirror again. Last night they told me that for bound magic what you do is you take your magic and pour a bunch of power into a piece of your element. Then you will be able to move the element almost with no energy being spent. The other thing and the scary part is that when I pour my magic in, it can attract a wayward spirit and you will then be able to control the piece of it and the spirit. 

"Hello, Earth to Ro, Earth to Ro," I heard Edan say to me.

"Sorry, I was lost in thought I guess. How are you?" I said relaxing a bit.

"Well, my parents want me to spy on you, but I don't want to. I like your family." I stopped walking and pooled my power and shot into his head. He collapsed in pain as I combed through his mind to find out where his true intentions lie. As I did I was in his body yesterday when he used his power.

Yesterday, through Edan's eyes.

"Well, well, well what do we have here?" said Ubel. "Wonder who he is?"

"Hello my name is Edan and I am from L.A." I said as I stuck out my hand for a handshake.

He doesn't shake my hand, instead he punches me in the stomach and said, "Don't play fucking games with me. Now, I own this school so if you do anything bad to me- you're gone." Well this was unexpectedly bad, well what can I do now?

"Do you really or is that what you tell yourself?" He pushed me to the ground and started to kick me in the stomach. Shit, I need to do something fast. All of a sudden lightning struck. BOOM!

"WHAT THE HELL?!" he yelled, I stood up and steadied myself. I look over and saw what was his name... Ro, he closed his eyes and the people looking at me with fear suddenly looked at Ubel with fear and I hear one person whisper something.

"How the hell did he do that?" What I did that, did Ro do something? 

Later at lunch

"Are you okay?" A girl who was drop dead gorgeous for someone who likes girls, so not me. She just started to walk away and talk with some other girl.

"Wow," he said, " Didn't take you for the type to expose us," Ro said kind of carelessly and in a loud tone.

"Me expose us?! What about you talking about it!?!" I whispered, but somehow yelled, looking at the girl sitting next to me, but she just kept talking oblivious to everything.

"Don't worry, I am using a blanket to shield us from their minds, they will never know what we are talking about." He said with a small smile. Blanket what is he talking about??!?!?!

"How?" I asked so confused. "Aren't you an earth born?" Don't know why I added the Earth born part

"Yes, but blanket spells are called blanket spells for a reason, anyone magic born can use them. They are mostly harmless and are just to help distract, like this one they know we're here but they don't register what we're saying or doing. It's super helpful for when people are annoying you. The one downside is that they take a lot of magic out of you." He said with a rock in his hand. Wow I never knew.

"So I can do them too, right?" I asked kind of hopeful.

"With proper practice and training, yes. Well lunch is over so I'll see you later." he said before he walked away.

Back to Ro's perspective

I knew the whole combing lasted only about five minutes but it felt like an eternity. I learned more than memories; I learned thoughts feelings and other important things. I looked and saw the complete betrayal in his eyes as he looked at me.

"What the hell did you do to me?" He asked with a slight quiver in his voice. I knew I did the right thing for my family and that is all I needed to know.

"I needed to know where you lied, with us or them." I said coldly. why did I say that so coldly?

"I know why you did it, I was just shocked to have all of those moments pour into my mind," he said as he got up. "Well we need to get to school, don't we?" Now with a small smile on his face, he put his arm out for me to link with.

"We do," I said while linking my arm with his. We walked the rest of the way to school in silence.
