Why is everything mental?
Why does your attitude mean so much?
Why can't we work like drones and do all things the same every time we do it?
Athletes have their off days. Musicians can stumble on music they know by heart. People can bomb a test they studied all night for.
It would be easier, yes it would. To zone out. To "leave".
But where's the fun? Where's the sense of accomplishment? Where's that feeling that you did something right?
It's not there. Not if you aren't there.
Think on this if you have a fight with your best friend right before the big game. When at home there's fighting and your band mates need you to rock out at your concert. When your just frustrated at life and you have an exam.
It's okay to be distracted, though only for good reason. It's okay to have an off day, if you don't let it control you. It's okay to be on edge, just don't let it build up.
The mental game is one that can be a punch to the gut. But it's still a game.
It's okay to have off day when you play a game. Just pick yourself up, turn to friend, and be beast at this game because it won't go away.
It will ALWAYS be a mental game.

PoetryEverything is mental. This is just a collection of snippets, of what is going on in my brain from time to time when it begins to overflow.
