Chapter 2

Lucy's POV

To say our landlady was surprised that we plan on leaving tomorrow morning would be a huge understatement. Although she tried to cover it up with her usual stern expressions, I could tell that she was sad to see us go.

"It's a shame you and Natsu are leaving, believe it or not, you two were some of my more tolerable tenants." She spoke, mildly disgruntled.

"Well if you love us that much we can always come and visit."

"Ha! Don't get crazy, I ain't gon' miss you that much."

"Don't worry, I'll have all our stuff out by tomorrow morning. I plan to head out around 5:30 so I can be out of Magnolia by 6:30."

"Well whatever it is you're looking for, I hope you find it." I was shocked that she would say that to me but I thanked her none the less. I was just about to head back to the apartment to continue packing, when she called out that she dropped off a package in front of my apartment when she was doing her rounds. I gave her my thanks and went on my way.

I grabbed the box on my way in and place it on the table. I cut the tape on the box to reveal bubble wrap and pillow stuffing incasing a box and a note, which read:

Hey Luce,
I hope you haven't been trying to contact someone, I kind of took your Communication lacrama and your music player. I was trying to combine them and make conversations more private and it worked! Now it should be able to make longer distance calls and it can hold about five times as many songs. Very simple to use. I've sent similar versions to the rest of the crew, the EtherComs --as I call them-- are specialized for the owners individual magical signatures, so no one can access it but the specific user. Let me know if there's anything that needs adjusting when we meet up again and I'll see what's up. Until tomorrow Lucy.

'Why am I not surprised?' I thought genuinely confused. I unwrapped the tape and bubble wrap to find what looked like a rectangular block of glass with nothing on it. That is until I added magic.

Its use was pretty self explanatory that it only took me about 15 to 30 minutes to figure out to use it to its entirety. 'Of course this thing has better sound quality than the LMp...'

"Well Plue, now that I think about it, we have most of our belongings in the Celestial World with Virgo already. There's not much to do but put the furniture back where I found it before I moved in."

"Pun Pun..."

"Yes Plue, Natsu did move all the furniture."

Natsu's POV

*Achoo!* 'Man, I wish Lucy were here. She's way better at managing money, but even I know this way too much for a landscaping job.' I thought as I counted out the 700,000 Jewel this rich guy just gave me. 'No use worrying about it now. Better call Lucy an--'

"Wait! Mr. Salamander!" Screams a pudgy man in a large fur coat. "I fear I've paid you an absurd amount for this job. I've never been so embarrassed."

"It's quite alright Mr. Pip'enpopsalaphagus. It happens to the best of us. How much do I owe you?" I say finally able to say his long-ass name, after a whole week of trying.

"Owe me? Oh no no no no no! I'm the one who owes you! I know the original agreement had been far less then what I've already paid you, but after you took on that second job of getting rid of all those vulcans off my private island. And afterwards you beautifully landscaped all 500 acres?! How could I not pay you more?"

'When you word it like that, almost makes want to ask for more.'

"Really sir, I was more than happy to do it without all the extra you paid me." I said genuinely concerned.

"Yes I'm very aware, but the amount I'm trying to pay you now isn't even half of what I'd usually have to pay a specialized team of landscapers that couldn't even come close to the work you've done in only five days! So I'm more than willing to give up 70,000,000 Jewel for the work you've done for me." He spoke as if he was giving me spare change.

'70,000,000 Jewel?! This guys nuts if he thinks I'm gonna take that! All I did was burn down all the forest!?!'

"There's no way I can take this! You may need--"

"HAHAHAHA! Thank you for your concern, but I run a very successful business second only to the Heartfillia's so there's no need to fret." He says a little too happily.

"Well if you say it like that..."

"Splendid! Now take this and you can be on your way, I'm sure got some one waiting on you back home. Best not to keep them waiting long. I'd like to thank you again for the work you've done for me, and I hope I can hire you again in the future." The Stout man interrupts.

"I look forward to it, Sir." After he hands me the Jewel, we part with well wishes and I head to the station. I've got a train to catch.
