    Summary:
    Amber Carson and her friends are headed to the Sierra Nevadas in sunny California. Their schools are camping out in cabins in the mountains. But it is there where Amber, Riley, Becca, and Vi discover something about themselves. They are the four who were chosen to have special elemental powers, to help them along with any problem or quest they find themselves in. 
    
                          
    But problems arise with them trying to keep their powers in check, Maya's evil plans, and a threat that makes the eight teens anxious to get away from the trip.
