"Miss Umbell, could you come here please?" The teacher called out from behind her desk. Not wanting to be late for her next class, the student obliged. She walked to the back of the room. "Yes Mrs. M?" The student asked.

The teacher organized her papers and cleared her throat. "Well, I noticed that you were the only student of mine that did not wright your fellow classmate, miss Ella Wilson, a letter." She said, still flipping through the scattered papers on her desk. "Was it mandatory?" The student asked in confusion. The teacher looked turned her full attention to her student. "No, it was not but the poor girl's father had passed away. I thought you would show her your sympathy by handing her a letter with the rest of the class. She was upset that you didn't, and I would like you to apologise to her."

The student sighed. "You want me to apologise for not caring?" She asked. "I want you to apologise for being so heartless." The teacher responded. The late bell for the next class wrung. "Did anyone apologise to me for making me that way?" The student asked in a rhetorical tone.

She left the room and walked down the hall. She entered her next class to be met by her next teachers sharp voice. "Miss Umbell, your late." She snapped. The student sighed. She spoke in a dull, bored tone. "Yes, I'm aware."
