My name is Alexia Lovett. I am a seventeen year old swimmer for Team USA. I am dating Ross Lynch, and this is my story.
*Beep* *Beep* I struggle out for the grasp of my warm blankets, and look at my alarm clock: 4:30. I sigh, I feel like I went to sleep just minutes ago. I clamber out of bed, and get ready for practice. I stuff my swimming gear into my bag and check my phone, 4:45. I grab some yogurt, coffee, and a bagel.
I head out the door, when I here some shuffling. I turn around, and see my seven year old sister, Cece, standing behind me in her nightgown holding her toy bunny rabbit. "Sissy, there is monster under my bed, and he wont leave me alone." She says on the brink of tears. I pick her up, and we go to her room. "I will make him leave," I say setting her down by the door. I take a flashlight and shine it under the bed, "Leave Cece alone!" I say forcefully to the dust bunnies. " Ahhhh okay!" I say in a squeaky voice.
I close the flashlight, and pick up Cece, and put her in bed. "Thanks for scaring him off Sissy." She says yawning. "No problem," I say, tucking her and her bunny into bed. I give her a light kiss on the forehead, and smooth back her dark amber hair. Her hazel eyes start to show signs of sleepiness. "We will do something together today." I say. She nods and drifts off to bed.
I leave the house, a private beach front property on the coast line of Los Angeles, California. I start running to the nearest bus stop, which happens to be about two and a half miles away. And to my luck it starts to drizzle.
I make it to the bus stop just in time. The doors open, reminding me of doors to a alien spaceship. On the seat is a old friend on mine, George. George is a old skinny sixty year old man, with thinning white hair. "Let me guess, Aquatic center, Miss Lovett?" He says chuckling. I smile and nod, "You know me so well George." "Well go on and take a seat the bus is empty."
I climb in a take the seat closest to the doors. The bus lurches back to life. I put one of my Beat ear buds into my ear, and gaze out at the dreary world outside. The drizzle steadily grows into rain. "How was your day yesterday?" I ask George. he looks at me through the mirror. "Good, I went to go and visit Lisa's grave yesterday. What about you?" "Dad went on another date with Kimberly, and when he came back, I don't know. He was really drunk and, he started yelling at Cece and I...." I say trailing off.
"Maybe he just needs sometime." He says. " I don't know George. It has been three years." I reply. "Well here you are Lexie. See you tomorrow, and can you give Cece this. I found it, thought she might like it." He says handing me a book. I look at it. It is a book from Dr. Seuss, Oh The Places You'll Go. I smile, "Yeah thank you, and same to you." I climb out of the warm bus, and into the cold rain.
I walk into the empty Aquatic center, and then there is a splash. I walk over to the pool and dive into the warm water. I surface, and look face to face with my coach. He is twenty-two and all the girls fall for him. His name is James. He smiles and me wickedly, "We are doing conditioning today Speedo." I roll my eyes behind my teal tinted goggles. "Why?" I groan, before I swim my way over to the edge of the pool.
James pops up next to me, and shakes his black hair, and climbs out. His 8-pack, and his tribal wolf tattoo, gleaming. " Your going to do 1,000 meter, 800 meter, 600, meter, 400 meter, than 200 meter. 3 minute break. than do it again starting at 200 than go up. And...You will do this for each stroke." "What!?!?! Why?" I exclaim in protest. "Cuz I said so, and you want to win gold." He says shrugging. I think about it, I guess he is right. I nod, than take off.
After 3 hours of going back and forth, flipping and diving, I walk outside the Aquatic center. It is 7:10 a.m. . I breath in the cool salty Saturday air, and catch my bus home.
