Chapter 17 - Taehyung's POV

"DON'T DO IT!"

I looked at Y/N, rushing towards her. I saw Jake glare at me with wide eyes. The other members were surprised themselves.

"Don't give up the drive. He's not going to get away." I glared at the others in the room.

"None of you are."

The room fell silent. Deadly silent. No one moved. Not even the breathing of those in the room could be heard. There was nothing until more doors burst open.

"Everyone get down and put your hands on your head!"

The CIA.

"Mason?!" Y/N looked at a tall figure, who I assume is Mason.

Mason ignored Y/N, looking straight as Jake.

"I'm disappointed in you. I raised you..." Mason looked at him with what seemed to be sad eyes.

"You didn't raise me. You were just a toy in my plot." Jake pulled out a gun from behind his back, immediately aiming at Y/N.

Mason picked up his, pointing his gun at Jake.

I started panicking. My breath becoming quicker by the second. It was 2 men with guns, and Y/N at the center.

"I don't want to shoot you Jake! Put the gun down!" Mason yelled.

Y/N was still the entire time, unable to move. Jungkook was released from the man's grip he was in, and tried to make his way to Y/N.

Jake pointed his Gun at him. "Don't move!"

Jungkook froze, taking a step back.

"Now!"

Within Milliseconds, everyone was shooting. The rest of my fellow members ducked to the ground to avoid getting caught in the fire. Jake was making a dash for the stairs. I saw Y/N standing up, despite her injury. She ran after Jake.

I had to follow her.

She stumbled up the stairs, crawling as fast as she could.

"Y/N! What are you doing!? Are you Crazy?!" I ran to her, helping her up.

"We can't just let him get away!" She continued up the stairs.

By the time we reached the roof, Jake was already waiting there.
He pointed his gun at Y/N.

"I thought we were friends! We're supposed to be in this together!" Y/N was yelling now.

"I was never your friend. Nor would I want to be. You're one of the reasons my father was killed!" He spat.

"How could you blame me for that!? My parents died too! You don't think I'm heartbroken?!"

Jake stood silent for a couple moments.

"This flash drive is the only thing I have left of them! Everyone is trying to take it away from me!"

His eyes grew soft, but I didn't last long.

"Give me the drive." He took a step towards her, and I immediately went between them.

"Go. Escape." I waved him off.

Jake shrugged, turning to make his way off the building.

"Taehyung what the hell?! Don't let him get away!" Y/N stood up, running after Jake.

She grabbed the back of his shirt, using her little strength to pull him down. He fell onto the concrete by surprise, wincing.

Y/N quickly pinned him down, punching him hard in the jaw. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she continued to slam her fist into his face.

"You. Were. My. Best. Friend!" She claimed between punches.

"Y/N stop! You're going to kill him!" I took a step towards her, which was a huge mistake.

Jake pushed Y/N off him, his face covered in blood. He kicked her hard, causing her to stumble back, falling close to the edge of the building.

He roughly grabbed her, pulling her up. Their faces were inches away from each other.

"Jake, No!" I yelled, but I felt useless.
If I got in the way, someone would get hurt.
I had no choice but to stay back.

"You think I wanted to do this?" Jake growled as Y/N struggled under his grip.

"I wanted to be normal."

"You don't think I wanted that?! I grew up in a facility more than half my life! That's something that you've never gone through!" She snapped, successfully breaking free.

She completed a roundhouse kick, completely pushing Jake over the edge. Her eyes widened a bit as she watched him go over.

I noticed he was hanging on to the edge of the building. I ran to Y/N's side quickly.
He gripped onto the edge, pulling himself up a bit. He grunted, gritting his teeth.

"I... am not.... going alone." He brought up his pistol within seconds, and a shot was heard.

"TAEHYUNG!"
