JJ wasn't sure what was better, screaming or crying. His spider legs curled around his body, something he subconsciously did when he was upset. The moon was full over the warehouse where JJ lived, casting an ominous light over his body. He looked up, reaching a hand out towards the stars. He longed for someone to reach back, grab his hand and lift him up. Tears shone in his eyes and he released a guttural scream, years of anguish rang through the night. It echoed from the roof of his warehouse to the small village below, JJ looked down, a single home shut its lights. He squeezed his knees to his chest. He was all
ALONE
Ethan was running. He ran and he ran and he didn't look back, powerful legs pushing his stallion body across the field. He couldn't go back, he wouldn't go back. He couldn't be in her house anymore, not after what his father did to it. He wouldn't watch as he broke her pottery, vases and pots she spent months working on. He couldn't watch as his siblings all left, leaving Ethan all alone. He couldn't be there anymore once he took the last thing Ethan had left of her. Maybe he was childish, maybe he was making the most horrible decision he'd ever made. But right now Ethan missed his

Harry felt numb. He drowned himself in jobs and paperwork to distract himself from the aching hole in his heart. He couldn't save him, the scene kept replaying in his head and each time he couldn't save him. His name rang in Harry's head, his cries for help screamed in Harry's ears. He found another job, found another client, sold some merchandise anything to get through the day without letting his loss consume him. If he stopped, for even a moment, he would collapse and his chest would cave him leaving him alone and helpless. He took a deep breath, I'm so sorry Cal, I'm so sorry. Harry just wanted to stop feeling so

Simon had to keep going. No matter how much it hurt he had to keep moving. He followed less travelled roads, fled at the sight of any Kai, he even flinched at the sight of other shifters. But Simon kept going, if he kept going he would be able to fulfil his role. He remembered what his grandmother had told him before he left, how he was part of a world changing prophecy. He was skeptical but she was the only kindness he ever knew so if she believed this prophecy, so would he. He squared his shoulders. He couldn't make his grandmother if he gave up now. All he had to do was pick himself and keep

Tobi felt uneasy. He had disagreed to leaving the village in the first place but now something felt... off. Maybe it was the eeriness of being in the woods at night, maybe it was because Josh had this brilliant idea and Josh isn't exactly known for brilliant ideas. Maybe it was being so far from the water. Tobi felt at home in the water, no one could hurt him, sometimes he felt like he could almost touch them in the water. But then he left, and it felt like the loss was happening all over again. No matter what the reason something was off and he wanted him and Josh to leave, before someone got hurt. He wanted to keep his friends

Josh smelt something. He wasn't sure what it was exactly but he smelt something and it smelt hurt. He pushed his snout further to the ground and sniffed, his nose led him west where he saw footprints. They went from feline to human and were covered in blood, Josh's heart skipped a beat, this shifter could be dying. He needed to save them, he needed to save someone, he couldn't be a healer without saving at least someone. He couldn't let what happened then happen now. He picked up his pace, the scent getting stronger with each step. When he reached the unconscious shifter's body one thought rang through his head, this was a shifter he needed to

Vik was hurt. Pain throbbed through his body with every step he took through the thick woods. He pressed his hand to his side in a futile attempt to stop the heavy bleeding. He had shifted back to his Kai a while ago, it was easier to hobble on two legs instead of four. His voice sang in Vik's mind, reminding him of the only reason he hadn't given up already. Find the others let them know I'm the eighth, please Vik, for me. Vik breathed heavily and pushed himself forward, one more step, one more step, one more step! The next thing Vik knew he was on the ground, his vision spinning. He tried to push himself up but he just collapsed again. He closed his eyes, he could almost hear what he would say to him. You've got to get up Vik, keep going, don't give up. A tear slipped down his cheek. I'm so sorry, He thought as he slipped into unconsciousness. I'm so sorry Lachlan, there were supposed to be eight of us, there were supposed to be
