It was quiet. Too quiet. Two men sat in a living room, with nothing to do. Well, one had something to do, at least.
"I'm bored," The one with a scarf thought aloud.
"Try the radio police scanner?" The other asked.
"Boring," The first one replied.
"The detective without a case...sounds like a good blog topic," The second said to himself.
"There's nothing to do, John..." The scarfed one looked over his shoulder at the middle-aged man busy at his computer.
"Sherlock, I'm in the middle of something. Couldn't your mid-life crisis wait for a few moments?" John frowned in annoyance.
Sherlock sighed and took out his iPhone.
After browsing social media for some time, he quickly sat up and stared at the screen intensely.
"It says here that a blue box has a mysterious history here in the U.K. and is under investigation," He stood up and pulled his coat together for warmth before he rushed out the door, leaving John at his computer.
John closed the laptop and stood up as well.
"Here we go, again..." He sighed.
—————————–——————————
The duo promptly arrived at the scene where the box had been seen last.
Ducking under police tape, Sherlock immediately started looking around the area.
"Oi'! What are you doing, sir?" An officer shouted at him.
John stopped next to him and pulled out a wallet with his ID in it.
Showing it to the officer, he said, "John Watson and Sherlock Holmes. Might've heard of us. I apologize for the inconvenience, but we have work to do."
He quickly placed the wallet back in his pocket and followed Sherlock. The police man stared in disbelief as the two friends started investigating the situation.
"Anything?" Watson questioned Sherlock.
"It's incredible. There's no evidence, no disturbance...nothing," Holmes explained after he looked for some details that could lead to the answer of the case.
John frowned skeptically and glared to his left and right before looking Sherlock in the eye.
"Are you sure?" He challenged.
"Of course I'm sure, John! It's odd for there to be no evidence in this kind of case," Sherlock started to pace and put his hands in his pockets, puzzled.
"Did you read through the whole file?" John asked.
"No, actually," Sherlock stopped pacing and took out his smart phone.
After a moment, his eyes widened in amazement.
"You're a genius, Watson! It says that the box has been witnessed appearing and disappearing out of thin air throughout the country," He quickly walked away from the scene with John closely following.
