A young boy was awkwardly starring at the black and red ceiling in his bedroom with his blonde, messy hair and ocean blue eyes. He was deeply lost in thought as he dazed off from looking at his ceiling for so long. The thoughts he was thinking about made him very depressed. Those thoughts were from last week when he was eating dinner with his family consisting of only him and his mother and the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, who was also his father. While his parents were engaged in conversation about matters that were going on in their work and personal lives, he couldn't help but feel happy. The reason why was because that night was one of the only nights where the whole family could spend time together. This was due to his father having to continually work which explains why he's never home most of the time as his position of Hokage kept him quite busy keeping the Hidden Leaf Village safe as well as resolving issues with the other Kages and their villages. The boy understood how important his father's work was as it was crucial to the villages survival, due to him witnessing how important his job was as well as occasional reminders from his mother. As he continued eating, his father began to speak after finishing his bowl of ramen.
Naruto:So Boruto, anything interesting happen with you this week?
Boruto:Nothing much, Lord Seventh. On Wednesday, me and my teammates just went to the arcade for about two hours after we completed our mission at the Sand Village. Sarada was pretty impressive against me and my sick video game skills but she only beat me ten rounds though. Mitsuki was pretty good against Sarada but she beat him every time.
Naruto:Wow Boruto. Your the master at that game I heard about. You have the highest score out of any kid in the village.
Boruto:Yeah, I'm gonna go by there tomorrow and try to beat my high score at Ninja Fighters 3 so I could keep up with Sarada.
As Boruto and the Hokage continued speaking, his mother spoke up.
Mother:Naruto, how was that meeting you had with Garra? Is he and the village alright?
Naruto:Yeah Temari. He's doing fine. He and the village just fixed some plumbing issues they had. They were very minor though.
Temari:That's good. Boruto, how did your training go with Sasuke today?
Boruto:It went pretty good mom. I perfected a normal sized Rasengan during a sparing match with him. I'm starting to get the hang of it. It's a lot of work though but as long as I have the guts to keep trying, I'll be perfecting it like it's nothing.
Temari:That's great son!
Naruto:Great job, Boruto! Keep trying and never give up! It'll get you somewhere great in life.
Boruto:Thank you, Lord Seventh.
The family had a wonderful evening that night filled with juicy conversation. Family. Boruto knew in the back of his mind that they were far from it. For as long as he can remember, his father loved his job as Hokage. To top it off, his father doesn't recognize him as his son and while Boruto was up in his room while he was speaking with his father, it basically confirmed his thoughts.
"Flashback"
Naruto:That son of yours really idolizes me, doesn't he?
Temari:Yeah, he does.
Naruto:You know what I don't get, is why he acts like me sometimes? He's one of the smartest of our genin and I don't get why he disregards the use that brain of his and acts like me during some missions?
Temari:I don't know. But, he has gotten better.
Naruto:Yeah. I feel Boruto just needs to work on being himself, ya know?
Temari:Agreed.
"End Of Flashback"
As he finished dozing off from the memory, Boruto decided to go for a walk to get out of the house. He then got up from his bed and put on his black jacket with red stripes on the sides that was hanging from his bedroom door, which matched his black tracksuit pants. After he finished getting ready, Boruto walked downstairs to get his black shinobi sandles on where his mother called out to him.
Temari:Boruto, where are you going?
Boruto:I'm just gonna walk around the village, mom. I'll text you if I need anything.
Temari:Don't be out there too long, young man.
Boruto:Sure thing, Mom.
Before he left, his mother stopped him from reaching for the door.
Temari:Boruto, are you still upset about last week?
Boruto, taken aback by the question, turned around to face his mother.
Boruto:No, I'm just going out to get some exercise.
Temari:"sighs"Look, Boruto. I'm sorry that Akira moved away from the village but you have to understand that your father and her had a really bad disagreement which wasn't your fault.
Boruto:I told you, I'm just going out.
Boruto responded, sounding more annoyed.
Temari:Are you sure?
Temari asked with a stern look and her arms crossed.
Boruto:Yes, mom. I understand Akira and Lord Seventh got in a fight which made her leave and stay with uncle Gaara, or should I say Lord Kazakage.
Boruto said with with his anger starting to crawl up inside of him.
Temari:Boruto, your allowed to call him uncle Gaara.
Boruto:Then, what about Dad?
Temari:What about your father?
Boruto:Why is it forbidden for me to recognize him as my dad?
Temari:He's The Hokage, Boruto. He wants you to be respectful and realize that the village is his family, not just us.
Boruto:I get that. You've told me enough times and I get it.
Boruto said. At that point, having enough of the conversation, he left the house before things got more heated between him and his mother.
"Music Ends"
As he walked around the village with his music in his ears, Boruto noticed some of the families in the village all having a good time with each other, such as parents eating with their children and siblings playing with each other. As Boruto was continuing his walk, he saw his mentor Sasuke, who was also his father's best friend/rival, sitting on a bench. The boy then made his way to his master to greet and chat with him, but not before he turned his music off as he did so.
Boruto:Hey Sasuke, what's up?
He greeted, sitting next to Sasuke as he did so.
Sasuke:Nothing. It's just a dull day for me.
Boruto:How's that?
Sasuke:Well, nothing really interesting happened today other than I had dinner out with Sarada at the Burger Shack downtown which was pretty good.
Boruto:Well, what have you been doing out here?
Sasuke:I just decided to get out of the house.
Boruto:Same here.
Sasuke:Sarada's asleep right now so she doesn't even know I'm gone. You know, these past few months, I've been very happy that I'm home. I've also noticed how happy Karin and Sarada have been since I started to spend more time with them. I'm starting to think that this is the best decision I've made in a long time.
Boruto:That's good.
Sasuke, obviously knowing something is wrong with his student despite his warm response, started questioning what was going on in his student's life.
Sasuke:Something you want to tell me?
Boruto:It's nothing, Sasuke. I've just been a little tired from that three day mission I just completed.
Sasuke:Don't play dumb Boruto. I know that face anywhere. I saw you make it when you were starring at Metal and Rock Lee yesterday.
Boruto, knowing there was no way out of the conversation, spoke with his mentor about his issues.
Boruto:Mom and I got into an argument about Akira leaving the village. She got angry at dad due to an argument they had about how one of her missions went. After that, she went to live with uncle Gaara. I tried speaking with her but I didn't get a response other than some texts from her.
Sasuke:How come you never told me this during our training sessions, Boruto?
Boruto:I don't want to take you away from Sarada. She deserves to spend time with you since she never got to most of her life.
Sasuke:Don't worry about her. I've put enough time into my schedule to spend time with her and Karin. Just know this, Boruto, you can always come to me if you need to talk.
Boruto:Thank you, Sasuke. And, the reason I said that is because I want my girlfriend to be happy, ya know?
Sasuke:I know. But, just remember this.
Sasuke then turned his head slightly to reveal the Rinnegan that was hidden by his hair covering his left eye. Boruto was told stories about the Rinnegan and it's power by Sasuke. He was completely amazed by how much it can do but he also feared it's power as Sasuke once threatened to throw him into another dimension if he dared told Sarada about his accidental kiss with his father when they were younger.
Sasuke:If you dare hurt my daughter, then you'll have to deal with me. Do you understand?
Boruto:Yes, master.
Boruto fearfully said, deeply afraid what would happen to him if he dared hurt Sarada. Regaining his composure moments later, he calmly said his goodbyes to his mentor and headed. As Boruto made his way back home and entered his house, He made his way to his room where he got ready for his slumber. He then got into his pajamas, brushed his teeth, set his alarm, and went to bed. After a few moments, he dozed off, sleeping peacefully in his bed.
