25: The Help

The morning felt like every now and then, it was getting boring. I wasn't eating regularly or active. I don't know why I keep finding myself in situations like this. It's like there's a big writing across my forehead that's says "Abduct me" I stared at Niyfal and realised that he was three week old, almost a full month. He was growing so fast. He wasn't trouble for me which was why I admired him so much as we grew closer to each other. After combing his hair, I called in the nurse to watch over him while I go shower. Standing there, I noticed how much weight I had lost and was shocked by the changes. After my shower I had brushed my teeth and wore a sports outfit.

"Can you bring me a little breakfast buffet please? A small portion of everything you have on the menu, except bagels" I said to her and she nodded handing me Niyfal. I took him and noticed that he was just fed.

"Hey little man" I whispered as he opened his wandering eyes and looked at his surroundings. I blowed on him and he squinted."look at you, little guy" I said in a high pitched voice and he smiled a little. I started to lightly tickle his belly and he giggled a little then barfed.

    Grossed out, I cleaned it up with his bib and carried him to the sink with his bath seat underneath him. I gave him a light bath wash and dried him up. After dressing him, I then walked out with a servant rolling a cart in.

    "Thank you" I said to her as she asked if I needed anything else but I shook my head and dismissed her. Niyfal laid there playing with his rattle while I fix myself some breakfast.

After breakfast, I laid there slowly singing to Niyfal as he looked around and heard a loud noise out there, causing himto cry. I quickly ran to the chair and placed it under the doorknob as I looked around for something . I took the flowers in the vase and dropped it on the floor and held on the vase as if my life depended on it. I remember the sound of gunshots and knew people were dying out there. My heart raced and I could hear noises towards my door. I hurried and grabbed Niyfal while holding on the vase and hid inside the closet as he stayed quiet.

I then heard someone struggling to open the door. I could hear two voices conversing then my eyes flew open when I heard someone yell my name from the the other side.

"Melanie!?" I heard the familiar female said and I got out of the closet with Niyfal on me and placed the vase on the nearest counter just in case. I opened the door and Lepania came from behind Sonetta to hug me.

"You get out now ok? Let's go" she said and I noticed a gun on her hand. I've never seen her hold a gun and was surprised at the moment.

Sonetta ran in the room and went in under the bathroom cupboard and grabbed a big baby bag.

She held on it and then grabbed a coat for me and a blanket for Niyfal. I put on my slippers and we both went downstairs.

She led me to the way and we stood frozen at what we saw.

"What do you think this was, Mel? Huh? You thought you could leave me like that?" He said as he held a gun to Lepania's head. She was in his hold and had glassy eyes. Lepania was never about killing, she was very innocent. I would rather put my life in stake then let her take a bullet for me.

"Let her go, please. Take me. Just let her go" I said handing Niyfal to Sonetta and I slowly walked towards him. He then fired near my left foot and we both jumped with Niyfal crying uncontrollably as Sonetta rocked him in fear.

"I know you Melanie, you can't play with my emotions anymore. I know what your trying to do, you think I'm dumb huh? Do you? You think I'm stupid. You make me do all of this for you and you're still not happy" he said then pointed the gun at me. "I should've just killed you a long time ago instead of keeping you around to play with my head" he whispered as a tear rolled down his eyes. As he kept talking about what he could've done for me, Pèair went from behind him and shot both of his legs making him fall in pain. Lepania then ran to me and hugged me.

"It's ok" I told her, comforting her. Niyfal was crying as hard. The look on his red face was filled with anger. I picked him up and shook him lightly. I then looked over at Denin struggling. Pèair walked towards him and pointed a gun at him.

   "Kill me" he mumbled and Pèair laughed.

    "You really think ill let you off that easy? You really think you will die a quick death? It's not me who's going to take out that light of yours. You have a lot, a lot coming your way" Pèair said grabbing one of the security guards attention and pointing at Denin. The guard then nodded and we all walked out the entrance as the guard helped Denin up.

    "Thank you so much" I said to them all but especially to Sonetta. She could've betrayed me but she didn't. I was extremely grateful for what they have all done for me. They would've sacrificed their lives for Niyfal and I.

Pèair got off the phone and gave me a light smile."Were going to the airport, can't use the private plane, need to stay off radar. We will use the companies plane, but it will only be for us" Pèair said and I looked at Sonetta and she looked back at me. We knew what we were going to do. I would have to keep my promise one way or another. She looked at me for approval and I nodded as she took out her phone and called a number.

After an hour we arrived at the airport, and Pèair had us sit in a private waiting room. "Do you need anything?" Lepania had asked me and I nodded. "Can you get me a quick snack and some water please?" I told her and she nodded then asked Sonetta and she also gave out her order.

While Pèair was out chatting with the pilot and Lepania was out getting us lunch, Sonetta received a phone call then hung up.

"Their here" she said and I got sleeping Niyfal up and my bag. We walked out the waiting room with the guard asking us where we're we heading, just in case Pèair would ask. "The bathroom" Sonetta lied with a smile and they nodded.

We walked to the bathroom door and looked if they were looking and as soon as they started conversing with each other we headed the opposite way. I grabbed a beanie from a sleeping persons chair and wore it while Sonetta held Niyfal, and she wrapped her head with a scarf as I held Niyfal. We met three other people there and I gave them a light smile as she went and hugged them.

She thanked them grabbing the suitcase they had brought for her and hugged them once again before heading to the line with me.

We both showed the man our tickets and he let us get in. We sat together and waited till the plane was set to go.

"Their not coming with us?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"Not today. They want to get their visa and do it right" she said and I nodded.

"I promised to get them all, and I will keep that promise" I told her and she smiled.

"You have"

Then the pilot announced that we were leaving in a couple seconds. The plane started going and I saw Lepania and Pèair with the guards running after us. Lepania then spotted me and a tear rolled down her eyes. Her crying made me cry, I waved sadly as the tears slid down my eyes. Then wiped it as the plane flew up.

"Your okay?" Sonetta asked and I nodded with Niyfal in my arms.
