The Lightning Bolt
By: Amy Dickey
One day in the summer, we decided to go tubing. We went outside to get our jet ski. Next my older sister (Ellie)
and I got the tube. Then my dad brought the jet ski around to the side Ellie and I were. So Ellie got in the water with the tube, while I got on the jet ski with my dad. We were having a blast tubing that day. Then we decided to get in the water and cool off. While I was in the water, I saw some thunder clouds start coming in. But my dad got back on the jet ski and Ellie got back on the tube and we started tubing again. Then it started raining and there was thunder and lightning along with it. My dad saw that we didn't need to be out there right then. So we pulled into a dock that was near by. I started to think how worried my mom must have been. We waited until my dad thought it was time to try to make it back home. My dad said that Ellie could ride on the tube if she wanted. I convinced her to get on the jet ski because I knew if she rode on the tube than she would probably fall off many times. So we all got on the jet ski and our way home. It was a very rough ride because the rain was splattering right in our eyes, and there were huge waves bouncing us all around. I thought I was probably going to fall off of the jet ski. I kept on seeing lightning bolts strike near our house. We finally got to the dock drenched. I was very glad Ellie was on the jet ski because the tube was bouncing around every wich way. When we got to the dock, the tube was completely flipped over. It was the scariest day of my life.
